It's useless for you in Denmark, it's not useless for me here in the U.S. Maybe Apple doesn't want people to download apps? Maybe I don't want it either? Not everyone wants this you know?

Most people wants this. And if they want to earn in the future they must go with the flow. Look at the stocks. It's going downwards because they dont innovate anymore.

And you cant as Apple live of the US market alone. The money is elsewhere nowadays. The US is broke and it gets worde year after year.

As Phil Schiller said "Can't innovate, my ass!"

And actually I don't think nessicarily "most people want this" just most nerds on Macrumors and similar do. BIG difference.

My Apple TV has been relegated to duty in my basement HT its serving my Movies to my Projector, everywhere else I've added a chromecast being served by Plex apps on various devices, it's really the best system I've come across the device serves as a content remote, it works fantastic

Why not install PlexConnect on your Apple TV? It works brilliantly.

You can airplay Plex to Apple TV why would you need a Chromecast to do that?

The latest version requires installing SSL certification to Apple TV by a micro USB cord. Not everyone has a micro USB cord.

Not any more. The SSL certificate can now be installed over WiFi or ethernet.

Or you can use the Plexify app; it'll install the certificate for you. Although, it is still buggy.

I love Crackle!!! I used to Air Play it to my Apple TV all the time. This is much more convenient.

Also for those people wanted the NFL on an Apple TV.... Direct TV has just renewed their exclusive deal with the NFL. It will not happen for a long time.

Although there is speculation that they are near an agreement the NFL and DirecTV still have not agreed on anything yet.

where's this time warner for apple tv? their CEO said an announcement this week on a new device, but i haven't seen any announcement?

You can play that game if you want. I haven't seen many cases where CableTV + Internet is actually cheaper than Internet itself, although it is often only a few bucks more or even equivalent in cost for some number of months if you are a new subscriber or call in and tell them to drop your cable TV service.
That is not what I was trying to say. I was saying that I expect that the cost of Internet + CableTV (bundles) will be cheaper then Internet + pay for only the shows you want. Not that Internet + CableTV is cheaper then Internet alone. The reason I say this is because as more and more people start streaming shows from the Internet the band width usage will go up. At some point the Pipe Providers will simply charge more for the Pipe.

I am with you on this. The only news I have seen is that local channels for SOCAL are being added to the App. I would love for once that people that write articles would do followup articles to explain what happened to the expected event.

You dont now what you're talking about clearly. Most ofcourse want local apps. Thats why in Denmark AppleTV now sells like 0 units and Samsung TVs, LG TVs and so on, now have taking the SmartTV market completly.

It's not nerdy to want products that can what you expect of them. It's nerdy when people like you pay for a product that is almost useless because of a logo.
