did they improve the music app? that's really the only thing i liked better in ios6

ios 7 version sucks if you got alot of albums from the same artist or to just repeat one album from an artist instead of all of them or randomly.

Nope they did not lol. Only added back a "shuffle" option in the Genre view.

I really hope this isn't the case. The iPad Air badly needs a performance update sooner rather than later. Their flagship tablet is a poor excuse without 7.1.

I sincerely hope this rumor is wrong. I'm reasonably hopeful that my iPad photo import problems will be solved in iOS 7.1. And I've got a couple events in late February when I'd like to use my iPad to view my digital SLR's photos. I'd much rather see 7.1 released by next week.

If only I could downgrade to iOS 5 or 6 in the meantime! :(

Good. Lots and lots of work still needs to be done. Running iOS 7.1 Beta 5 on my 5S, I still see bugs, like force closes and some lag. Its a huge improvement over 7.0.3, but a lot can be done. I hope they optimize it and make it feel like iSO 6.1.

Could one of you developers that are running beta 7.1 please try out Apple's Camera Connection Kit for importing photos from an SD card?! 7.0.4 is horribly slow. See the link in my message above yours and go watch my video comparison.

I'm not a developer. I just registered my UDID and paid like $7 bucks to get beta versions of iOS 7. :D

March would put it on around a 6 month cycle. A major update every year with a minor release in between (and maintenance builds scattered across the year)

iOS 7.0.3

It's "Macrumors" not "MacFacts"
A true rumor has an actual source. This is some guy in his Mama's basement making stuff up.

Well it's a rumour, and this is MacRUMOURS!
No it isn't. There is a difference between rumor and fiction. The ability to recognize distinctions is the distinction between fools and the wise.

Looks very underwhelming so far, but the stability will be very welcome.

I wonder if they're putting more staff on OSX for a bit of a makeover on that?

Basically, if you upgrade diligently (as Apple tells you), half of every year, you have suboptimal product (until bugs get fixed).

What "suboptimal" product? iOS7 runs fine. There's nothing really that *prevents* you from running the operating system. Most of the "issues" are just from people who don't like icons or the look of the updated apps.

This.

yes, exactly my feelings. And the old adage "no one forces you to update" is false - Apple actively forces you with software updates requiring the latest OS. FCPX 10.1 and iWork apps require Mavericks - if you collaborate with other people on latest versions, you HAVE to update.

So, by "Apple actively forces", you apparently mean "other people require".

Would you be happier with no updates or backwards compatibility to MacWrite 1.0? Apple, and all other companies provide a reasonable amount of backward compatibility, even with their hardware.

I love how even though nobody has a good track record of predicting minor iOS release dates, and all the BGR predictions that MacRumors loves have proven wrong so far (especially their Beta 3 predictions), MacRumors continues to publish these meaningless made-up stories. Shows how desperate people can get for clicks these days.

7.1 will be released when it is ready (based on beta 5, that won't be for at least a few more weeks).
