A second camera is much needed. Would have liked a better zoom lens but that is not going to be possible with the thin body. The camera if equal to the base model iPhone makes it much better overall. Currently I feel the camera on the base 17 is better than the Air. And if Apple is able to reduce the price down to $899, then definitely there will be many more ready to buy the Air. I would like to see brighter color options. All the options for the Air this year are too light.

We have been covering iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Fold details from The Information's report about future iPhone models, and next up is the iPhone Air 2.

The report says that Apple aims to make the iPhone Air 2 more attractive in two ways.

First, Apple is apparently considering adding a second rear camera to the device, which would resolve a key limitation. The current iPhone Air has a single 48-megapixel Fusion rear camera, with Telephoto-like, optical-quality 2× zoom, so the additional camera on the second-generation model would likely be an Ultra Wide lens.

Second, the report said Apple is considering lower pricing for the iPhone Air 2. In the U.S., the current iPhone Air starts at $999, despite having only a single rear camera, a single speaker, shorter battery life, and a few other minor limitations.

While it has a bold, ultra-thin design, the iPhone Air has seemingly been unpopular relative to the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models, and Apple's suppliers are reportedly significantly scaling back production of the device as a result.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027.

I WANT THE IPHONE 18 PLUS. BIGGER SECREEN, BIGGER BATTERY , WHO CAN SAY NO TO THAT?

I couldn't care less about the camera, and the only thing stopping me from getting the current one is the price. I may have to wait until next year for the first one to be discounted.

Why no iPhone mini for all millions of people including kids with small hands?
Slimmer and even wider devices are horrible to hold.

Why don't they test that, now, with iPhone Air v1 by the lowering the prices to see if it sells better?
I think Apple is worried it would set a precedent for price adjustments

It would also be interpreted as an admission of two things:
  1. very low sales (i.e. Fail!)
  2. unnecessarily high profit margins.
Of course, we already know both of those things, just like we know a certain politician lost an election and won’t admit it—but Apple still has its reasons not to openly admit them. Marketing. Share prices. Ultimately… Pride.

I love my Air !
I don't need a second camera or a second speakers.
My battery lasts a very long time.
I just wish it were smaller. 6.3 inches like the regular iPhone (or 6.1 would be even better)

I'm skeptical about being able to add a 2nd camera, without some compromising on some of the physical traits.

I'd do that before investing in an updated version.
I think they will make it thicker and add more cameras. 😆

I do not get who the air is for? Is the iPhone too heavy and thick for some? It just seems ridiculous. I rather have other features. I can carry something thicker.
It’s for those of us who do prefer a lighter and thinner phone, do find it has all the features we need, and don’t want to carry something thicker. *shrug*

The mini makes sense for children. That’s it. I remember having one and hating it. It’s too small. Even the regular is too small. I wish I got the plus size.
I remember having one and loving it. Oh, in fact I am having it right now in the front of me.

The iPhone isn’t that thick. lol. Anyway. It’s got poor sales. So more people agree with me despite the angry dislikes I got. 😂 (fine with it).

I kinda regret getting the Air because it’s not as light or thin as I expected and it’s noticeably smaller than the Pro Max. And of course, it’s still much more expensive than expected.I don’t mind the fewer cameras and shorter battery life, the design is the main flaw.

It’s the 12” MacBook all over. It cost more than the Air, did less than the Pro. When I worked for Apple retail, I sold exactly zero of those because who would ever?

And yet there's still a tiny percentage of Mac users who swear up and down the 12" MacBook was their favorite Mac of all time and Apple should bring it back yesterday. Fans exist.

Rumours say Apple will actually bring it back yesterday, with adequate hardware this time.

Really? never knew that! Thank you.

But there’s a rational for the mini it’s smaller and makes sense for children. What demographic is the air for?
It’s for the Apple fan that’s amazed by the way Apple fuses engineering, design and software like none of the competitors can. All the changes people are suggesting are present in the rest of the lineup, so who is the thinner and lighter Air for? People who want thinner and lighter.

You guys keep saying that, but the sales don’t lie. Very few people like them and willing to buy them. It’s been a loss.
