This is always the way it goes in engineering. There are some people working on fixes to the current release, others working on stuff that will make the next release, and yet others working on stuff with a much longer timeline. It is management’s job to make sense of this chaos and assign people and target dates to different tasks. But you are always working on both some long-term and shorter-term projects. I’m sure some are working on "28" already.

10.6.4 is when Snow Leopard did get really reliable. It had some bugs including one big one before that although that particular bug never impacted me.So far for the Snow Leopard approach...
