That's wrong. The attention (including completely fabricated lies by an attention seeking US actor) has forced Apple to _publish_ what it has been doing anyway.

Apple can't prove that the workers in its production chain get a living wage (have enough money for food, water, and housing), but they still get a B+? Talk about grading on a curve...
You don't expect Apple to have direct access to Foxconn's payroll systems, right? I'm quite sure Foxconn can provide this proof, but for some reasons they were not asked.

Why do we never hear about the working conditions for Samsung laborers ?
Reporting about them will make you lose your job, at least if you are a reporter in South Korea. It took Samsung years to kind of admit that maybe perhaps there was a huge number of Samsung employees dying from leukaemia, and they are very sorry, but it's not their fault.

Does this mean they can finally cut the suicide nets down?
They take them down when San Francisco installs suicide nets on the Golden Gate bridge. Which has several thousand victims so far. But in a poor country like the USA, money is more important than saving lives.
BTW. I wouldn't expect that you checked this, but Foxconn and Apple took action, and it actually worked. A company that cared about PR and not about people would have never put these nets up, because it encourages stupid jokes like yours. Fact is, it worked. At the worst time, the suicide rate at Foxconn was so bad, it matched the percentage of US retail workers being murdered on the job. Now it is about ten times better.

You can't read. Apple provided no proof about wages. Which is quite obvious, because Apple doesn't pay wages to Foxconn employees in China, Foxconn does that.
Well we heard it from the workers themselves, when their hours were curtailed. They weren't being allowed to work as much as they wanted to.
The very first negative report about working conditions in China of people working on Apple products told us that the biggest number of workers' complaints was about overtime. Then someone checked the original documents and found the complaints were actually about workers not always getting as many overtime hours as they wanted.
