Executives from Apple and other tech companies will meet Trump administration officials on Wednesday to discuss co-ordination efforts and information sharing to help tackle the coronavirus outbreak, reports Fox Business.

Representatives from Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon and Twitter are expected to visit the White House on Wednesday, FOX Business has learned. These executives will be joined by officials from government agencies including Health and Human Services, the National Institute of Health and the U.S. Labor Department, to name a few. White House Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios will lead the meeting.
Tech executives will reportedly attend the White House meeting either in person or via video conference.

As the coronavirus spreads, there's been an upsurge of users spreading conspiracy theories on social media and attempts to boost fraudulent "treatments" for the disease. One of the topics of discussion is expected to include finding effective ways to fight coronavirus-related misinformation being spread online.

It's also expected that remote working options for employees will be discussed. Google on Tuesday issued one of the most sweeping cautionary measures by tech companies so far, recommending that all its employees in North America work from home until at least April 10 amid the viral outbreak.

Meanwhile, Apple has reportedly encouraged its employees in Cupertino and many other locations to work from home this week if possible. Another report this week claimed that Apple has offered its retail employees and some other hourly workers unlimited sick leave if they experience COVID-19 symptoms, with no doctor's note required.

As of Wednesday, there are 119,357 global cases of the coronavirus with over 1,000 in the U.S. On a global basis there have been 4,290 fatalities as tracked by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

Correct... to ensure the virus spreads as slowly as possible, and these people can remain doing their critical jobs, if you can work from home, do work from home. If you cannot, then you cannot.

Yeah, work from home to delay the inevitable, but, with no one having any immunity to it and no vaccine for a year & a half, exposure is practically inevitable. ...There are 30,000 people coming to my local university from the chicago to milwaukee area and worldwide every day, all grabbing the same door handles, bathroom stall doors, elevator buttons, etc. A staff member in one of the dorm buildings was just tested to have covid-9 last night. How long has that person been infected, & how far have they spread it? I guess we'll find out in a week or so. What does the school do? Tell everyone to just keep coming to classes anyway. What's the conservative course of action here, be cautious, or throw caution to the wind?

Sounds like they’ll be working on a stimulus package too.
That would benefit online shopping, aka, Amazon, since people are staying home. Stimulus isn't what's needed. A proper response over a month ago is what was needed. Now, it's game over for stopping this spreading. We've moved past that point.

I'm sure this will be fun. How do you tell someone who refuses to accept fact, that they are dead wrong.

And any stimulus is added to the massive amount of debt that the country is drowning in at the time. The deficit is higher than it has ever been, and we really can't afford to have the administration ladeling money on the oil, cruise, and air carrier industries. And a 'middle class tax cut' was trumpeted before the 2018 elections, and it never happened. It's red meat to people that want to believe him. The 'great perfect tax cut' that happened greatly benefited the 1% and higher.

How 'loyal' congresspersons got Covid-19 tests without showing symptoms is also troubling, in light of a dearth of testing capability for 'the rest of us'.

CNN has a podcast of facts to help disspell the disinformation out there, and Sirius/XM has a dedicated channel (121) to provide information as well. And Italy's death rate is over 6%, bucking the idea that the worldwide death rate is 2%, or less. And the plague killed up to an estimated 200 million people. Playing with, and eating, wild animals is not going to end well.

Wide spread exposure may be inevitable, maybe not, but delaying is very much the goal. Because that means the medical system won’t be overwhelmed, and when some people do get significantly ill they will have a better chance at recovery. It’s called flattening the curve and it is very very much what we want to happen for everyone’s sake.

When did pharmacist become real workers and programmer become fake workers?
is it because pharmacists get to stand a foot higher than us?

Let me guess - money for hotel owners.

Everybody is coming to the White House. Today it‘s tech and wall street execs the other day it was insurance companies. I guess that’s one way to give off the appearance of “doing something“.

Tim spends a LOT of time at the White House.

Did he spend that much time there before? Legit question, not politics per se. Just curious. I don't remember seeing it as much as I do now.
