Feminism has got to far if they care so much about females then look at islamic countrys and fight for them, im sorry but females now days are equal and this is getting out of hand metoo isnjust a celeb fashion

No, sadly, females are *still* not treated equally. Look how politicians treat women, jobs / careers, and generally, in day to day life.

The fact there is a need for International Women's Day highlights existing gender inequalities.

Woman and man aren't identical. Never have been, never will be. But seeing what man in the west are slowly becoming, it wouldn't surprise me that there won't be man at all soon.

Even in this thread 'testosterone' is being used as an insult. Why? It's a hormone. Nothing more, nothing less.
But if man don't have normal levels, they are usually depressed, overweight, low energy, etc.

Well, I'm sorry to inform feminists on this forum, but my T levels are normal, slightly above average. I am married, and I know that me and my wife are partners, not one above the other, or anything like that. I have 2 small daughters, and they are healthy little girls.

But you can be sure that they won't be raised up to believe in this feminism cr*p.

I choose to celebrate the women that work around me by treating like I do everyday:

People that do work worthy of praise.

That includes managers I work with, technicians on the floor, co-workers, my mother, and my wife.

Grow up and educate yourself on the different types of equality. The most dominant form of feminism has changed from advocating for equality before the law to advocating for equality of outcomes, i.e. promoting discrimination in favor of alleged "underprivileged" groups and against alleged "privileged" groups. Any time that anybody that promotes so called "diversity" and "inclusive" programs that are based on non-meritorious variables to the respective industry (such as gender to Apple), they are advocating for unfair discrimination (sexism in this case). Companies like Apple should not be creating programs specifically for promoting women or men. They should be promoting people regardless of non-meritorious variables.
The problem is defining "meritorious variables". It's awfully funny how companies which claim "purely merit-based" hiring practices wind up with teams of white men. Meanwhile, companies which remove names and other identifying information from résumés when reviewing them wind up with a pool of employees who much more closely match the demographics of their regions.
I don't think women should have a "day". I don't think men should have a "day". That said, if women DO have a "day", men should TOO. Not that I care much in the grand scheme of things, I just want to be logically and ideologically consistent.

Guess what. There has been an International Men's Day for decades: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Men's_Day

It’s quite simple - if you’re perceptive enough, it’s downright obvious women are held back by patriarchy. Glad the world continues to push for progress and hope that it all comes out in the wash a few generations from now.

You’re gonna get a shock the moment they head to college.

Well, thank God i don’t live in a country where basic science is being neglected in order to push PC and SJW agenda, so I’m not worried about college.

My wife went to one, my sister and wifes sister as well. They are still normal women, so I have no worries about mu girls being brainwashed ;)

I don’t think anyone is suggesting men and women are anatomically identical, of course we’re different and have different hormones etc.

The key is these movements are trying to push for a world where everyone has as equal an opportunity as possible, regardless of hormones. We are all bound by the institutions and norms that preceded us as we grew up, and the reality is the more you see, those institutions and norms still give men higher status and more positions of power, and they therefore have more power. It’s not PC - it’s just wanting the world to be run by people - all people - not just men.

Masculinity for me is morphing into being strong enough to provide for and support others, which lends itself perfectly to pushing for a world where everyone can thrive.

You may want to ask your wife/sisters how they feel about feminism and equal opportunity, they’ll likely have more insight than me.

Actually, I do know how they think and feel about this subject. And they really don’t share your opinions about this subject.

You make a lot if sttements, but forgive me for finding them hard to believe without any actual facts.

As true leftist you have no argument and go straight to ad hominem attack, no time to waste with people like you.

So now resort to name calling instead of actually responding with substance? Because I have open eyes and recognize there is inequality, you call me a "true leftist" instead of understanding that I have my own opinions, buddy. I don't subscribe to agendas. If you've read my posts here long enough, you should know that. It's really too bad you resorted to name calling, but I figured you’d go there. That's what people do when they have no substance left to their argument.

It's QUITE clear from reading your post you haven't a clue about what feminism really is. You're lumping a thousand issues together without showing an understanding of any of them. You are incredibly naive to believe discrimination and sexism do not exist in the workplace. You actually believe that women are not highly represented in certain areas because they don't have the merit? Grow up. By the way, how about turning this day around from a defensive whine into educating yourself? There IS a day for men already.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Men's_Day

I guess the story doesn’t fit too well into your little testosterone filled fantasy, does it?

you describe yourself perfectly, defeated by your own words. I don't need to counter any of your arguments Miss Kathy Newman

WOW. you resorted to even more name calling.

you don't even know how to read without making stupid dumb hipshot assumptions. you think you know everything about someone from two statements. WOW. i feel sorry for you. i really do. there's no point in any debating someone who is completely unable to contribute substance. all you like to do is classify people into little fantasy categories that fit your misunderstood beliefs of issues. it's obvious to me why you don't understand any of these issues with such bad reading comprehension.

Welcome to my IGNORE button.

Based on the back and forth here... clearly this thread should be in PRSI with other political subjects, and not under "news and article discussion"...

I dont understand the uproar over International Men's Day. We need one too if equality needs to prevail.

If men and women were truly equal there would be as great a fanfare on International Men's Day. Or better yet, get rid of all these days for select socio-political groups. Besides Feminism has destroyed the male/female dynamic...sadly.
