I don't really understand the hate for it - it works really well for me. Enables me to upload all my custom songs and unreleased stuff to my Apple Music library and have them side by side with music in the Apple Music catalog.

The only thing I find a bit janky is the search when it doesn't very efficently swap between searching your own library or searching Apple Music. It can be clunky to switch and sometimes you get stuck levels deep and have to delete the search and start again, it needs work here - maybe use some AI to decide if it should search your own library or the AM one! Two search boxes seems a mess, I don't know the best way to do it - someone must be able to figure it out though.

Yeah it's exactly that, search. I have it set to show the iTunes store aswell because I still buy albums occasionally, it's even worse with three tabs.

Nice. Used to love these things, soothing sounds. Since some hearing damage (tinnitus and hyperacusis and some dysacusis) it’s not the same anymore. Sound and music that used to be amazing can instead be annoying. It’s really horrible.

I say this again, Apple – please help cure ear issues biologically and you will get more customers that can enjoy your sound/music services. :)

I was curious to try it so I picked the Focus version and played a random song on shuffle.

I'm ngl. This actually sounds pretty nice lol. 'Data Visions' in the focus playlist is pretty pleasant to the ears. Might have to explore the rest!

Will check out the playlist but not sure whether to believe the scientific study behind it. But will be interesting to see the songs in the list.

Needing a phone to fall asleep, that doesn’t make sense.

Many people need a TV to fall asleep

Some use white noise machines or apps that feature nature sounds. Some people use specific lighting for and to pre for sleep.

On the surface "needing a phone" to fall asleep may seem odd, but people have been relying on technology / sources to sleep for decades. (Sleep timers in TV's...)

I kinda feel like podcasts do this better. I have some nice rain podcasts that can be around 1-10 hours long. All free too.

And you can use the podcast app to set a sleep timer.

I think there's a possibility that this feature will affect your "music profile" in Apple Music.

My favorite source of music going back to the Beats Music days was the "new music mix" playlist that's curated based on your listening habits. It had my tastes down to a T — until I tried sleeping to this new feature a couple times. Now it seems to think I'm some kind of drip.

I did play the Lofi Girl mix a couple times, so I can't rule that out, but this night-and-day change in my suggestions is just awful.
One option: Use a focus for sleeping (can be the Sleep Focus or one just for this purpose) and turn on the Focus Filter to use or not use listening history with the toggle set to Off for “Use Listeking History”

WOW. That is exactly the kind of deep preference I both wish Apple did more of and am not at all surprised that I couldn't find.

Listened to it for 30 seconds and found it irritating. Back to Jorge Ben Jor😀🇧🇷

The playlists include extended, instrumental, and reimagined versions of popular tracks from artists such as Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, and others.
As a playlist specializing in audio frequencies created for brain states, I'm expecting big things from a playlist created by America's number one astronaut.
