Ad-Free Experience should be added as a feature to Apple One subscriptions. Anyone paying for that monthly subscription should not be subjected to ads in any of Apple's apps.
Looks like TomTom will be getting some of my business.
Apple Maps is about the worst of the available options,
They aren’t. Which is why the ads aren’t specifically targeted at you but a broad range of users instead. Most data collected is anonymized, unlike Meta, Amazon, and Google, who are hyper-targeting their users.Weird, I recall so many people here claiming that Apple wasn't in the Ad game because they make high end devices that we pay a premium for.
I'm not liking it either, but for one I will have to see how its implemented and how it impacts me.This is bad and Apple should feel bad.
Through the money I give them for their hardware. We pay a premium for Apple devices over Android devices because (at least we were used to be told) we are not the product.how do you expect Apple to pay for Maps?
That not going to help. We need Steve back.I kinda can't wait for ol Timmy to retire.
Because net profits of $97 billion in 2023, >$100 billion in 2024, and $112 billion in 2025 is simply not enough.
Honestly, who could live which such meager income?
Google makes on average $50 from a user using Google Maps with ads across several years. These services are part of the value of buying Apple devices - they advertise these devices as such.
You paid for the device that runs it. That’s hardly “free.”Yes, Apple should offer its services for free. How dare they charge their users!
well? how do you expect Maps to get better if you don't have any money to pay for the improvements?
maybe stop complaining and enjoy new features you'll get that is paid for from the ads you can just mentally ignore. it's not hard.
really getting tired of the whole "but but but Apple is worth a trillion dollars!". that's not how it works 🤦♂️
"Apple must invest into maps more than Google Maps to make it better than Google Maps without the revenue of Google Maps" is a terrible business decision.Because net profits of $97 billion in 2023, >$100 billion in 2024, and $112 billion in 2025 is simply not enough.
Honestly, who could live which such meager income?
And you see two ads before the list even starts. It’s why I stopped using Google Maps.most people use Waze or google maps, never wanted to use Apple Maps
Let's all think about how you can get a free MacBook Pro if Apple would just simply donate it. Gosh! Why aren't we pushing this idea?!It's not what I want, we should all be thinking about how we can be vessels for what Apple wants.
Through the money I give them for their hardware. We pay a premium for Apple devices over Android devices because (at least we were used to be told) we are not the product.
People on MacRumors used to mock Android users for stuff like this.
