Marina has a very good idea here

It's horrifyingly ugly I can not believe my eyes. It adds so much clutter and complexity
Completely agree. Apple claims 'less distractions' but the design adds soo much visual noise. Also all the options and text in, for example the phone call 'bubble', I would panic for choice and miss the call because there is so much to read.

The usual silliness from Apple

"Liquid Retina"

"Liquid Glass"

No clue what the liquid part is supposed to mean other than "flowing with BS"

I find that I can’t take Craig‘s voiceovers of the design hyperbole anymore. Even if his voice does sound like a South Park character.

Edit: oops I meant Tim’s voice. Sounds like Mr. Garrison to me. :) Craig sounds like an actor trying to act excited.

Personally I think everything but Graphite is extremely distracting but I understand that’s not the case for everyone. As such I also have no issue spending like ten seconds to change the accent color on a new system setup once in a blue moon to something that does work for me. I see no real point in being disappointed by something that can be so easily addressed.
It's another waste of my time when I want to get to using a new machine, and as someone who has to set up multiple systems regularly, it becomes a pain. It is NOT something that can easily be addressed for my situation. Not at all.

I understand that everyone has their own taste, and maybe some people defend Apple no matter what. But let’s be serious… this looks really bad. I’ve always had an iPhone, but just looking at the screenshots ,literally makes my eyes hurt.

Through the entire presentation, I kept asking "why?" "Why does the Lock Screen clock need to dynamically move based on the wallpaper?" "Why are there a "clear" icons Home Screen?"

I fear that the animations are going to get slower in iOS 26 in order to show off the glassy effects. I wanted faster animations.

Ok...i am concerned about readability. They have to give us some kind of option to adjust the opacity or something cause wow..it looks like its just going to be a nightmare to read some stuff.

I want to like it. I like the idea of it...but the way they show it...It feels forced ya know. Transparancy works great for the Apple Vision Pro because those items have to work in a virtual world overlayed over the real one...

This...im not sold on it yet. I dont hate it. I want to like it, but i got too many concerns. Maybe if they just had it as an optional theme or something.

God i wish we could go back to the classic original layout. that made so much more sense!

Folks... I know new is a lot. However, I suspect there'll be accessibility features to reduce translucency or increase contrast for legibility. There's every reason to doubt apple's DD these days, but I still have a hard time imagining they won't give you the tools to lessen the liquidity affect if it feels difficult to read for you. Accessibility has always been something Apple does well relative to the competition.
Accessibility shouldn't only be for people with specific needs. Making the entire OS significantly less readable for EVERYONE, and then throwing an accessibility bone for a few is bad design that comes from either hubris (design for the sake of design) or running out of meaningful ideas, or both.

It’s unfortunate that going into System Settings to enable Reduce Transparency weighs so heavily on you.
