We need M5 in MacBook Air next. M4 is meh, M5 is cool.

My workflow is just not going to fly on M4 so I’ll stick with my Intel Mac for now until Apple Silicon is fast enough 😜

Why would a MacBook Air have better performance than a MacBook Pro?
If Apple updated MacBook Air with M5 chips in the spring ‘25 while the MacBook Pro was still an M4, but I don’t believe that will happen.

I believe that that MacBook Air will get updated to M4 in the spring ‘25

And have a MacBook Air with better performance than a MacBook Pro? Not happening.
Apple did launch the M2 on the MacBook Air in June 2022 more than 6 months before they added the M2 Pro to the Macbook Pros in Jan 2023. In single-core the Air was faster, though not in mult-core.

Why would it have to be Spring? Apple could update the MacBook Air with an M5 in July with an announcement in June. They just updated the MacBook Air to include 16GB of RAM, which buys them a few months.
