Ugh! England should get them at the same time as the United States. I mean, we're England? If it wasn't for us......................... ;-)!

Good we've got a date though! Now I know how long I have to save!

Exciting :)

yeah...if it wasnt for the english...

I want to pre-order one to be sent to my house, but don't know if I will if its not guaranteed to be at my door on saturday. If its not, I might just pre-order it to pick it up at a store and actually go to an Apple store on Saturday, although the nearest one to me is about an hour away.

Anyone know how the pre-order system for Apple usually works, as in if you sign up immediatly when pre-ordering begins to you get yours the day its released, but if you sign up later you get yours later, maybe even a week later?

Will we eat chocolate bunnies and look for plastic eggs hidden in the yard to celebrate the first coming of the iPad?

I'll be getting in line Friday with my peeps.

Believe me, I'm not.

The point was: "why do people insist on posting that they're not buying something - as if anyone cares?" Even if this exceeds all expectations, the iPad will sell to only a couple percent of Americans in the first year. Why is it that you think anyone cares that you're one of the 98% who won't be buying one? Is your inflated sense of self-worth so out of control that you really think anyone cares?

Either way, it depends on demand. I believe that demand for the iPad will be so high that there's no guarantee you'll see 1st day delivery unless you're one of the first ones to order.

On a separate note: Apple stock up more than 6 points today. My March 19 $200 calls should net me some nice change.

Same think with the MBA home orders had them when the stores ran out, it was bad ordering online :)

Anybody know what time pre orders would start on the 12th?

Thanks,

Geno

I imagine well have plenty of notice between the time the store goes down and them comes back up. But when it does come back up its going to be a real test to Apple's back end.

I like March 26th better. However I find it interesting they are doing a Saturday release date. Makes for more crowds, as many are not working. Good strategies for Apple.

good strategy, cause there is no way people would camp out in front of a store on a regular weekday for a device this crappy.

apple needs its hype. and a saturday release is the only way they'll get it this time.

Figure about noon ET. That gives Apple enough time to take the store offline and have all the blogs write about it.
