I was wondering the same thing, I want to set my alarm but I have never pre-ordered from apple before so I wonder when the page will be up.

I would assume these are the Apple built-in apps, but it will be interesting to see what what iPad-specific apps can do. I wonder if it's anything beyond a size upgrade. Given the new features in xcode, and the encouragement to make UI changes for iPad, I'll bet these apps will be fun to play with.
Having a stab in the dark, something to do with Apple being a US company?
Living in Europe, surely you should be used to paying 1. more and 2. getting it later the the US.

Regardless, these things are going to fly off the shelves regardless when they are available. Nice to see some official dates.
Only listen countries like Spain, France and the UK – just to name a few – will get it 3-4 weeks later. And people in unlisted countries will have to wait even longer. Especially when Apple is hit by high demands.

What do you think the chances of pre-orders being sold out? I hope we don't have another attempt by the iPhone Lady (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYBFY98lWcU) trying to place a pre-order of 100 iPads.

Hmm, not sure about this. On the one hand it's bloody annoying being told end of March and then getting that date pushed back to the end of April (UK mac user here). And it's even MORE annoying that Apple haven't told us the UK price yet, makes it difficult to judge whether or not this is a potential purchase (and can't help but feel if it sells out in the US they'll up the UK price before announcing it).
On the other hand, the US gets to be beta testers, there'll be more software available at the UK launch, we'll have some proper in-depth reviews to base a decision on and maybe, just maybe, we'll have iBooks at launch too. Plus there's no way I can afford it in March anyway so that might work out
Still I'd give this a tentative negative vote for Apple missing its announced launch date (and not updating their UK iPad page to reflect the new info).

Uh, you're wrong, the U.S. is usually the last to get anything, especially in electronics. The U.K, Japan, China...etc.. are always graced with new tech and then it ends up in the U.S. a year or so later after every other country is bored with it, if we're lucky. We (the U.S) finally have a popular tech company, we deserve to be privileged with first releases, stop complaining.
They said 'end of March' when they launched it. It will be out April 3. I don't think I'd consider a 1 week delay much of a negative.
The 3G was originally scheduled for end of April - and that's still their current target.
Because legally you'd have to pay VAT and import duty, cancelling out the difference, that is if Apple will even ship from the US to the UK...

You might want the option to be connected when you don't have access to a WiFi network.
I am going to wait until it is the Apple Store before thinking of getting an iPad. Like to play around with a device before purchasing. I waited eight months after the iPhone was released before buying one.
Need to wait for the inevitable kinks to be worked out. Also want to see if there will be an iPhone 4.0. I'd get that before the iPad.
