Lockdowns have been a dream come true for those who love to forbid freedom. And, basically, they are those who condemn people who eat meat but won't condemn animals which eat other animals, because the point for them is not what you eat or what you do, but that you behave as an animal rather than as a person.
The straw man force is strong with this one. I’ve not seen any actual science-believing, well-intended human being that fits your descriptions, so I’m not sure who you are trying to attack.

Will Attenborough ever go away? And Earth Day, too. A person and day we would all be better off without. lol.

Sir David. lol

Even though he is English, I still give the man my respect as someone that has pushed scientific knowledge forward and in a way that is open to the masses. I cannot imagine saying a bad word about him, even if we were to go to war with England to dissolve the union.

No, I'm very much against any form of hate, not sure what led you to imply that?

The statement "a person and day we can all do without" was hateful towards a man who put the better part of his life towards advancing ecological issues, and about a day which invites awareness about the damage people are doing to the Earth ecosystem. Both of those are objectively beneficial to humanity as a whole, and hatred towards them is sociopathic at the least.

I leave you at that, since I don't think you're arguing in good faith. Cheers.
Well it was someone’s opinion. Nothing g wrong with that. Unless you only want to hear one side of things

Enjoy the day. 🤷‍♂️

Despite popular belief... the dumpster fire didn't extinguish on 1/1/21. We're still in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic with all the fears and economical fallout resulting from it... Not to mention the added bonus of complete political and social distrust, outrage, and malicious hostility... I think this documentary is better suited to come out for the viewing pleasure of our grandkids or great-grandkids... Maybe it could be called, The Fall of the United States of America.
You're right but the trumpster fire was extinguished on 1/20/21.

What happened to draw all the anti-science malcontents to this MacRumors post?

I enjoy most of the nature documentaries that Apple has put on TV+, I’m just as excited for second seasons of the other shows as I am for this new one.
Threads like these are good for my ignore filter. All the alt-right fools get dumped right into it.

I condemn my dog all the time for eating meat. Now we both make no sense.

Imagine what they paid out for this? I do agree though, I lived through this year and rather not get a recap, it’s still on going and so many others have done recaps already and I have not watched there’s either.

You're asking that the documentary include some "actual" science from one side of your mouth and then rejecting boatloads of science by calling the vaccinations "experimental drugs" out of the other. The weird positions some people are able to juggle simultaneously...
If it were not for the enacting of the emergency powers act these vaccines would still be in testing, for probably a year/s...aka "experimental".

Watch any 90 second TV ad for any drug, its 30 seconds of how wonderful your life will be followed by 60 seconds of all the horrible things the drug can possibly do to you. Those drugs went through the normal testing procedure. These vaccines where fast tracked.

I am not saying you should not take them. If I was over 70, I would for sure take it. I have had my first shot, because my employer is in an industry that is consider "essential". We were asked to the let our management know if we were going to take the arranged vaccine. We went on a Sunday and half of my team was there (14 of us). I am sure I could have said "no" but many of us felt we were being "voluntold" and did not want to be on some list of those that did not take it.

Considering my status, in great health and well under 70, I would personally not want to get covid or a the vaccine that at best gives me a 95% chance of surviving a virus that only has a .3% (at best) chance of killing me.

Actual science in this day and age? Good luck with that. These days it's all about FUD and parrots ;)
FUD is usually a tactic used by those that want to capitalize on ignoring science. For example, politicians cozy with oil execs trying to convince their constituents that environmentalists pushing for renewable energy sources are really just trying to take your freedoms away under the guise of environmental policy. I also hope that you're not confusing parroting with scientific consensus, considering consensus among scientists that anthropogenic climate change is a serious and real issue is virtually 100% at this point.

Merchants of Doubt is a good book about how FUD has been used to try and discredit scientific consensus for political and monetary gain if anyone's interested.

Nope, but thanks for the clarification.

Huh?

EDIT- ahh perhaps you’re Scottish..?

..."a fresh new approach to the global lockdown and the uplifting stories that have come out of it".

Sorry if I can't find an uplifting story somewhere in there along side 2.7M worldwide deaths, still accumulating at about 7,800 daily, a third wave slamming Europe, and 1600 a day dying in Brazil alone.

But hey, cute penguins and all. There's NOTHING cheeky or uplifting about it. No silver lining, no upside.

It's just horrible death, untold human sadness, suffering and loss. It's just BAD. Stop trying to NOT make it bad.

Try and wrap your head around 2.7 MILLION dead human beings while watching anything described as an upside to COVID and the lockdowns. I'm sure the people drinking themselves to death, overdosing on drugs, and committing suicide at alarming rates will disagree. As will the families of the dead, the long haulers and those who put off medical care for fear of the virus.

Real upside there, Lou....

The irony is, that a man who condemns his fellow humans for their carbon dioxide emissions, has, with his filming entourage, probably contributed thousands of times the carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, that they have, with his repeated circumnavigation of the planet.

"The Earth At Night" is a fantastic series, I watched again last night. If you haven't seen you don't know what you are missing. Incredible amount of technology and work went into making these films. There are a lot of good nature documentaries, but you not see any like these. Extreme high sensitivity and resolution custom cameras make the night look like day time and in full color too! Actual science!!
