You could have a virtual desktop in the glasses that completely surrounds you. You could either turn your head to see different parts of it, or swipe/scroll with your hand to move around (like Minority Report). No need for an actual MacBook at all.

I doubt any hardware will be announced as it’s virtual event it will be a separate event for hardware
My favorite Apple event of the year.
Don’t they always announce WWDC quite far in advance this surely doesn’t mean no April event....???
Looks like it will be largely about the Mac! Very excited to see what the new macs will be capable of. I guess this means no April event...maybe some surprise April product press releases for things like the airtags
As I can see people are worried, I’m just here to recall that last years’ iPad Pro didn’t have an event, it was just a product release.
NO NEW FEATURES! Fix the messes created with iOS 13 and 14, please.
I sure miss the days when a new OS version got released when it was ready, not when the calendar said it was time. My first Mac was a IIcx running System 6.0.3.
While I will say I enjoyed the live events and really missed it last year...I will agree that the digital format was VERY well done. Very enjoyable to watch (in my opinion) and I didn’t really miss any of the “filler”. Digital keynotes were quick and to the point, and despite that, none of them felt rushed. They were shorter, but the time was utilized very well.

To be honest, the only way any of us will know for sure is when the month of April has passed.

Fair point. I just couldn't remember if they have ever done an event after announcing a future event.
Maybe, but it could also just be they wanted the reflection of the glasses as a way to show what was on the screen.
I hardly think that means "no hardware".

Yes, because Apple always pre-announces products on the invitation... WWDC generally hasn’t had hardware releases but it’s not impossible.
I very much doubt there will be any product releases at WWDC there hardly ever is... it’s long enough just talking about the new OS’s
People thought the circles for the October event meant AirTags... guess what happened when theories went too further
