awesome! not bad considering unlimited email & data / web ...but I don't know about the limitation to 200 sms text messages...

$60 is a good deal. I'm currently on a 200 minute plus free nights/weekends for $35. Smart move Apple/ATT.

Actually there are three more voice plans if you link to "more minutes."

$119.99 - 2000
$169.99 - 4000
$219.99 - 6000

1500 SMS messages for $10 or unlimited SMS messages for $20...

It was probably a good idea to have SMS plans separate, it's the one feature that not everyone will use.

And it looks like existing customers can add unlimited data and visual voicemail to their existing plan for:

$20 w/ 200 SMS
$30 w/ 1500 SMS
$40 w/ Unlimited SMS

Least we know what Apple / AT&T stocks will be now officially for the rest of the week :D

This amazing news.

Only 200 text messages? Where is the unlimited? I probably send more than that some months.

well it says u can add more, and im looking at their site because i have he same concern, but it only looks like you can increase in increments of 200 texts and it is 4.99

This is GREAT!!!!

The 450 plan is all I need and only $20 more than my voice only plan. YEAH!!!!!!!!

Far better than I would have imagined! This puts them in line with Sprint's $15 Vision plan that doesn't even include text messaging.

nights and weekends...

the 900 and 1350 minute plans come with unlimited nights and weekends, too... (although the 450 minute plan comes with 5000 night/weekend minutes, which works out to 166 minutes, or more than 2.5 hours of off-peak use per day)

Wow

Wow, that's what I pay for my crap SE610, 450 minutes and no text messages/no data.

I have to say that I'm surprised.

Excellent deal IMHO.

Upgrade

Plus, it's only $20 to upgrade unlimited data from your existing plan. Very cool!

Curious though. Remember the ringtones tab in the version of iTunes Steve showed when he first intro'd the iPhone? I wonder if a new version of iTunes will be announced on Friday?

It's going to be cheaper for me now a month, and im getting more minutes with this plan.

Only missing the 1000 texts.

Existing AT&T Customers
If you’re already an AT&T customer and want to keep your current voice plan, you can just add an iPhone Data Plan with unlimited data (email and web) and Visual Voicemail for just $20 per month.

I think this pricing is really good, so just one more reason to get one .... too bad I'll have to wait until the end of the year :(

Plus, with mobile to mobile, 450 is MORE than enough for me ...

*starts saving pennies*

Just for comparison

T-Mobile. 1,500minutes, unlimited data, 400 SMS: $65.00
Sprint. 450 minutes, unlimited data (3G), 300 SMS: $59.00 (slightly less of a ripoff due to 3G)
Verizon: Not even going to bother since they're probably twice as much as everyone else

Looking at T-Mobile and Sprint's pricing, it's safe to say this is a ripoff.

Excellent, beats what I'm paying for my Blackberry.
Did I tell you what a PITA doing anything on the Blackberry is?

Question: It says that you can choose one of AT&T's current service plans, Will that include visual voice mail? If Id get say a cheaper plan they offer and not an "iPhone special" will visual voice mail work on my phone or will I just get my voicemail like most phones?

Jesus....this is a deal??? What do you guys do for money? How much time do you spend on the phone??

I'm just fine with my T-mobile prepaid phone...$100 every 6 months or so. iPhone is iHype and iMoney. And of course the 'i' is question in Jobs. And I like Apple and Jobs. But enough is enough! Just give my my xMac, Steve.

I just can't seem to justify paying for data on EDGE. It's just going to make me want to find wifi asap. I understand critical data and such, but at such a slow rate won't browsing the web be excruciating, save wifi?

WHOA! didnt see this coming...that 450 plan is NICE. the plans were going to be my deciding factor and damn...thats it. decision made. its about time someone pulled their head outta their a** and made a good plan!

watch the video
