What about shared lines for current customers?

My wife and both share a family plan - we both are planning on getting iPhones on Friday - doesn't it sound like we will have to split into two separate plans vs. the family plan?

This is GREAT!

Goodbye Alltel!
Hello iPhone.

This is just the news I was waiting to see. :)

Now accepting apologies

I will now officially begin accepting apologies from all those PC Hate Boys that said I was insane for daring to suggest that the iPhone plans would start at something resonable like $69. Gee guys even I was $10 too pessimistic.

And to think it got real ugly when I dared suggest $69, the PC Hate Boys must really be fuming now that it even lower.

Let's see, $20/month extra for the coolest, best working cell phone on the planet with unlimited web browsing. Okay I'm in line Friday!!!

Is no body noticing my post about the 80GB iPhone, and the fact that the iPod only works with Activation with AT&T?

I thought that would be a big deal.

These plans are revolting! I don't want any data/voicemail AT ALL bollocks to that much money!

I pay $40 for a free k800i with 500sms a month and 100minutes either to landline/mobile.... that deals ****! apple just screwing for more, im really disappointed considering ive used apple since 1995.lame.

I fluctuate from minutes every month. It's actually nice to have, as say i use 400 minutes a month 1 month, that leaves me with 1,000 minutes for the next month.

Don't be envious.

Exactly. My usage fluctuates, rollover allows me to not have huge overages on months where I've either got a lot going on with work, or am planning something big in my family. Rollover minutes are great because I would end up buying more minutes than I needed anyway just to allow for some kind of buffer zone. (Since paying a little extra every month winds up being so much cheaper than being over your allotment of minutes by a couple hundred.)

Cingular/AT&T has been absolutely excellent for me.

Activation Video on Apple.com

I just watched the new Activate your iPhone video and noticed in the section for syncing your data the section shows the same size as a 80 gig iPod...am I wrong or wasn't 8gig the top size for this beauty?

Goodbye Verizon

This is really pretty decent. I hate to admit it, but the 700 min family plan is the same as what I'm paying now for two lines...

The only real downside to this whole iPhone thing is the high price of the device itself. And it's really quite a nice device... I've still got to wait for the 16GB model, and for my Vz contract to expire, (and save a few $) but then it's 'allo iPhone!

$20 to add data plan to your current plan. So it may be $20 total or $20/phone. Seems reasonable either way. What do you think?

Yes, I noted and posted that, twice. No one else seems to notice.

I'm wondering I already got Pre-Approved with a Credit Check I had ATT run yesterday at the store.

The guy gave what's called a "Ban" number, and told me to give that number to whomever I see on Friday when getting the Phone.

But now that activation is being done through iTunes, I'm wondering if they'll have to run my credit again?

Anyone know?

Now its going to be very hard to resist this phone. Unlimited everything except SMS for 20 bucks more a month? And free mobile to mobile? So once everyone gets an iPhone we will all have unlimited minutes!

This is really great news.

Now I really hope that we can use the iPhone as a internet connection via Bluetooth or something.

It would make a great wireless modem for when you need access on a full blown computer.

Woot, unlimited (even if slow) internet anywhere there's cell coverage! :D (Assuming it's possible)

I am sad to see that there seems to be no way to add your own ring tones to the iPhone.

Let's hope when iTunes shows the correct memory capacity it will also show a Ringtones tab. ;-)

WATCH THE VIDEO! There's a box for the code.

I'm not really surprised about the iPod bit. I mean, anyone that wanted to buy the thing just for its iPod is an idiot. I guess it is a little strange though.

As for the 80 gigs, I guess they were using something else as a mock iPhone. I have no clue.

When you get a chance, watch the activation and sync video on Apple.com. It shows that you can enter your SSN or your BAN number when activating the phone.

take the damn iPhone out of the equation for a minute.

Uh, you can't use your plan without a phone.

You think it's a ripoff.

Great.

Don't get one.

Most everyone seems to agree the plans are very reasonable and less expensive than what was expected.

Yeah, APPLE IS SCREWING US HARD WHAT THE CRAP STEVE.

You people will literally complain about absolutely anything.

Now all you have to do is get your kids to ration their use of their new iPhones during the first month to build up your buffer. ;) Good luck, keeping the kids off the new iPhone during the first month. Maybe ATT will let current subscribers keep their current buildup of rollover minutes. That would be awesome!

I wonder how easy it'll be to transfer your number to AT&T and if that is done also through iTunes or you have to do that at AT&T and wait in line.

The plans are reasonable, I just wish the text messages increased with each plan though, even if it was just 50 or 100 more per plan increase.
