With a S model you actually generally get more for your cash (and less stuff like bendgate), which is why it's smarter to have to your upgrade cycles land on them.

Agreed they should have kept the Plus name

So far the only real upgrade seems to be 512GB. The camera doesn't seem like much of an upgrade, yet.

Usually I upgrade and buy the S versions, ever since I bought the original iPhone. This must be the worst upgrade in the history of iPhones. I'm gonna skip this time and I'm sure glad I bought the X last year, because it was a complete re-design. Nice try Apple, please do better for next years models. For those who don't already have a X, it's a good investment though.
I sure hope the "louder/better" speaker thing doesn't become a trend. Can't be long until 10 year old kids on planes and restaurants play games and watch movies with the volume cranked up instead of wearing headphones.

This was possible back with the Nokia Carl Zeiss phone years ago with Live Bokeh mode. And on the Note 8 which was on Samsung 2 years ago. And a bunch of Chinese phones. Clearly information that didn't make it through the distortion field....
