Just read this, and added it. Very quick and simple.
I was just about to type this reply too. sure, the places you CAN use this are limited, and the states you can get a Digital ID are more limited. But, this allows someone in a non-participating state use your digital Passport as ID verification in those certain TSA airports. You know, there are probably some people who do not have a drivers license … and then there are those people who live in a state that does not have a digital drivers license yet … but sure, it’s useless
Are you placing the phone on the inside of the back cover?Doesn't work. The app doesn't offer a "scan" button and the app won't scan my passport on its own.
Worked for me as seamless as can be.Doesn't work. The app doesn't offer a "scan" button and the app won't scan my passport on its own.
I mean, when you launch something as wide-reaching as this there are going to be issues. There's only so much you can catch in internal testing. I'd rather them be honest and mark it as a beta so that the user understands ahead of time that there might be errors rather than them presenting it as a final product with errors.Public beta...aka the default level for most Apple software these days. I get you have to start somewhere, but deliver a 1.0 and iterate.
I had no issues with 26.2.Doesn’t appear to be available in iOS 26.2
All I get is the 12 States, Puerto Rico and Japan My Number Card……. No US Passport option :-(
most all airports I travel take itThis is about as useless as the Invites app.
You can't use it as ID, few airports take it, you can't travel internationally with it. What's the point?
there are times - many in fact - I leave the house with nothing but my phone. car operates off of it, credit cards, id. its becoming too easy. It’s a step forward towards not having to have your wallet on you? You could have said the same thing about Apple Pay in 2014. Now I carry one physical credit card on me just in case.
Don’t want to use it? Then don’t add your passport! What a concept!
I've tried to find this online and there doesn't appear to be an official list anywhere. It seems like it's at airports that use the new CAT-2 readers, which have been rolling out nationwide.Where do I find the list of all compatible airports?
Haters gotta hate. The complaints about anything and everything related to this are very amusing!
I am excited to add my passport to my Apple Wallet when I get home.
Same.. super simple and quickView attachment 2578843
Had no issues adding mine. Went from applying to ready for use in less than 5 minutes.
Okay well still not there for me :-(I'm on 26.2 beta 1 and added my passport in under 5 minutes.
FWIW, it's actually called "Digital ID" in the wallet.
I just boarded an international flight without taking my passport out at the gate. That cat is out of the bagQuick!

Just give it time. In fives years, they’ll be common place. Remember Apple Pay? The US wasn’t ready for it. Now everybody accepts Apple Pay. Companies that don’t seem like an oddity. Admittedly though, the IDs have gotten much traction. Apple needs to make it easier for states to adopt. This is about as useless as the Invites app.
