If the price seems to high then it's probably not the right machine for you. Apple offers these for customers that always need more computer and can pay for it. Not for you or I.
It's so hard for some people to admit - yes, I was wrong, X - was right.what exactly are we apologizing for? It's hardly news if one says something less than a day before the formal announcement. That's not useful. Might have been useful if he had been saying it months ago, but he wasn't.
No one worships him, but such comments say more about you then about him or anyone else.Keep waiting for an apology, not all of us worship Gurman.
Provide source then if it's not you. I will happily read about it and retract my statements.LOL so you are now the arbitrator of what is based on reality or not? Btw, not my wild guess.
True but that’s a little beyond my skill level, and tbh not something I’d be interested in doing. I did replace the ram in my mini though, not sure if you still can on the new ones.Just wanted to mention that you can get a base Mini M4 for $499 (EDU) and add 2TB internally from AliExpress for about $180-ish ... and all in for around $700-ish depending upon sales tax it's an incredible machine and value (16gb RAM/2TB SSD)
Takes a touch of doing, but the install is super easy
(this is what I'm running)
I wonder if 3rd party vendors will start shipping SSD/Nand cards...
I was waiting for a M4 Max Studio, and thats what I will get (Upper M4 Max with 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD).
However, the Studio Display is putting me off. I was hoping it would be upgraded alongside the Mac Studio to support TB5 and have additional USB4 ports.......and an on/off button!

Uh… what on earth are you talking about?Say what you want about Intel, AMD and Nvidia. At least these manufactures are not confusing with their releases per. year
But at least you don't have to upgrade the ssd too, as with the macbook pro..You can't upgrade the base model to 64GB RAM without a processor upgrade now, so this is a price hike overall. Might just buy a refurb M2 Studio now instead.

The Dell Ultrasharp 32" 8K TB5 monitor is the the best TB5 monitor for Macs.
Asus has one, but it's capped at 1080p

This is just false, and it only takes two seconds of research to figure that out.Up until the M2 cycle everything was uniform with the launch
- Spring = MacBook Air with Base M-Series
- Fall [Oct] = Macbook Pros with M-Pro and M-Max Series
- WWDC following year = Previous year M-Ultra
Now it's just all kinds of messed.
People only remember when Gurman's rumors don't come true but forget about when they do. It's more fun to be sarcastic and cynical.I'm waiting for all the apologies to Gurman from people who laughed at it so much 😁
If your needs are met by a mac mini, then it's a great time for computers! For some a powerful desktop in 2025 can be the $499 Mac Mini
With Apple Silicon users you can not. It is debatable that Apple users are more intelligent than PC users in that they know what they need and buy what they need the first time.
I can never have enough power. NEVER!I am not sure it sucks...Perhaps we don't have all the permutation of options and/or the prices don't scale the way we want but the technology available today is amazing...
The onboard CPU of a typical NVMe drive is on the order of an iPhone 5 and new desktops rival the supercomputers used to probe the universe not that long ago.
There are software license USB dongles that behave weird when not directly plugged into the computer, and of course they are still USB-A, some of them were made ages ago. The Mac Pro even has an internal USB-A port on the logic board for this purpose. So as a user who has all USB-C devices, how is that nice for me? Do you also still want ADB and SCSI on your Mac?
This nonsense needs to stop. There is not a single reason to keep USB-A around. USB-C was made mandatory in the EU on mobile devices and as much as I hate their mandates, maybe it’s time to enforce this on all devices because it’s getting ridiculous.
What I can or won’t justify is none of your business. I didn’t ask for your opinion on my purchases. FYI, the word clickbait doesn’t mean what you think it means. It all boils down to how much the increase in productivity with an M3 Ultra is to your bottom line. You have an M1 Max, the M4 Max is out now, I’m not sure why the complaining? You obviously couldn’t justify the M1 Ultra when you bought your Mac Studio, but you could justify an M4 Ultra Studio now, but just not an M3 Ultra? Sounds like you can’t justify either and the M4 Max would work just fine, but you need to have something to gripe about on this thread. The M4 Max is eminently more capable compared to an M1 Max. Your math is adding up to clickbait.
