Apple today announced that it will be opening an all-new retail store at the Miami Worldcenter complex, near the city's downtown core, on Friday, January 24. A grand opening time has not been disclosed, but it will likely be 10 a.m. local time.

The store incorporates a biophilic garden that is designed to make vistors feel more connected with nature, according to Apple.

"Our brand-new store in downtown Miami is opening soon," says Apple. "Get ready to discover an oasis in the heart of the city, where nature thrives and creativity flourishes. We can't wait to see what blooms in you."

To celebrate the occasion, Apple has shared a specially-designed, garden-themed wallpaper for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. In addition, the store has an Apple Music playlist featuring some of Miami's most popular Latin music artists.

"Created from the ground up to reflect Apple's values, Miami Worldcenter is Apple's most sustainable store-centred on universal design principles, while creating an inviting space where everyone is welcome," says Apple. "In that spirit, we've put together a playlist featuring some of Miami's favorite Latin music stars to help us celebrate the store's opening."

Apple Miami Worldcenter will be the company's 10th store in the Miami area.

That's right, folks, get excited for this ALL NEW wallpaper for the ALL NEW store. This is the best, most creative store that Apple has ever opened! And, for the first time ever, this store has an ALL NEW wallpaper! Only 10 days into the year and Apple has already released multiple ALL NEW, best-in-class products. This is going to be an incredible year of innovation for Apple and we think you're gonna love it. The pipeline has never been stronger.

I am having a lot of difficulty trying to understand what you're saying here. Please clarify.

They already have a store at Brickell City Center, less than a mile away. Seems odd they would need another one so close.
I worked at Apple stores in South Florida for 7 years. Pretty much all of affluent Latin and Central America buys their Apple products in Miami while on vacation. We'd do a million bucks of revenue on any random Tuesday or Wednesday in March. The store itself sold over $700 million a year... and I left in 2014, I assume some of those stores like Aventura or Brickell probably do over a billion a year, by now. Latin American resellers and questionable drug dealers dripping in jewelry would buy iPhones by the carton. It was outrageous. And as far as I know, since Apple has virtually no retail presence in those countries outside of 2 stores in Brazil and 2 in Mexico, the crazy continues.

Most of it comes down to price. An entry level MacBook Air purchased in Colombia costs as much as a high end MacBook Pro in the USA.

Heh, I've actually seen this in person! One time I was in the Lincoln Road Apple store and someone was buying a stack of like 15 iPhones with CASH. Like, plunking down $100 bills by the boatload.

I felt like I was in an episode of Miami Vice for a second there. This was a while back, before the phones got over the $1000 mark but it was still a ton of money.

Those wallpapers could have looked so much better. They look like they were printed on a crappy inkjet printer on crappy paper where the colors are all dull and unsaturated.
