Nice but overpriced I think. Maybe if it had a 256 SSD it would be a little more competitive.

This will be faster than the $799 1TB i5 2014 model that I have at home.

Looks like no discrete GPU though, unfortunately but luckily we can have a hulking external GPU case next to our minis now.
I don't know why people would expect a discrete GPU in the Mini. It didn't make sense.
Desktop CPU. Upgradeable RAM. As someone has already said, have someone been lacing Tim's coffee with something lately? Or, are the masks from Mission Impossible now...possible?

I doubt it. I am guessing soldered storage is the way forward for all Macs. The T2 chip may also mean the Hackintosh culture needs to find a way around it.
A little disappointed in the i3 but it still seems like a big upgrade from the previous models.
Did I hear that right??? Upgradable RAM??? And the specs are great! I know a few people who want to a buy a new Mac desktop and I think I'll be able to convince them to get this!
I have been holding out hope this Mac would come. I am quite thrilled with my display setup and squeezing in an iMac wasn't that appealing, especially with the glossy screen.

Basically very positive. I was steeling myself for disappointment, but I’m not disappointed. Maybe they really did decide not to steer the Mac mini ship into the iceberg after all.
I am not going to pay 1.6x the price for a device that has not kept pace with Mores law. "60% fast graphics", that's a laugh. Remember 10+ years ago when Steve jobs touted a dedicated graphics card in their actually affordable baseline consumer lines? I do. This blows.

So we were waiting 4 years just for this? Just a spec update and nothing more? Am I missing something or is Apple really lazy with the mini? There is literally no reason why this took 4 years. They could have updated it at least 2x within this time frame.
I'm waiting to see full pricing and configuration on Apple's site, but this could be my next Mac. It looks impressive.
Don't think it really matters when you can go eGPU, and basically have a GPU upgrade path for life?
No sarcasm – what did you expect? No spinners, lots of connectivity options (I half-expected 2xUSB-C and nothing more), 4-6 core CPUs, price bump – what else did you hope for?
