Don't think it really matters when you can go eGPU, and basically have a GPU upgrade path for life?
Yes, and also the first Mac mini to come with a desktop processor.$799 is the highest “starting” price for a Mac mini so far, right?
I agree. 128GB is just silly for a device many use as a home computer.
A little disappointed in the i3 but it still seems like a big upgrade from the previous models.
Who cares? If you are serious about computers you have a NAS![]()
Except the Mac Pro offers workstation class hardware and this is all consumer grade. There is a need for Mac with specs above this.I expect the new Mac Pro will just be a stacking solution for the new Mac Mini. You can also stack several GPUs and storage modules.
Looking good, but the 64GB RAM is a gimmick. Probably a marketing move to shut up some bashers...
Well, the fact that they went so long without an update kinda indicated that there was a reason for that so reworking/redesigning it would justify that. Now, neither happened and its just a spec update which they could have done before and didn't need to neglect it for so long.No sarcasm – what did you expect? No spinners, lots of connectivity options (I half-expected 2xUSB-C and nothing more), 4-6 core CPUs, price bump – what else did you hope for?
You can view the enclosure as a long-term investment though. You likely won't have to buy another until you upgrade the computer (assuming the new one doesn't also come with Thunderbolt 3, although Apple will probably sell a dongle for thatIf eGPU enclosures weren't so damn expensive. But still, what can one do, I am forced to buy one, anyway, I want to play games.
Decisions decisions!!
Any reason I need 10 GB ethernet?
