That’s mostly true. But better than being spied on & tracked by google and Amazon. That's certainly true if someone is from planet Ork.
For me...Siri works great on my phone, HomePods, and Apple TV.

Yeah, I tried laptops in the 1990s and they were very heavy and ran super hot so I never use them now.Tried Siri like 10 or so years ago and didn’t like it. The only reason I have enabled it on my iPhone - it’s required for CarPlay.
Not going to start using it on my AppleTVs
My FAVORITE feature!Watching a movie or show, you can press the microphone button and say "what did he/she say?" And it rewinds 15 seconds and has CC until you caught up. Soooo handy.

I can attest to this being a common occurrence after accidentally pressing the button. The only thing I ever used Siri for on the ATV was to check the remote battery level and Apple intentionally broke that feature years ago. But I can't disable Siri because then accidentally pressing the button launches that useless 'search' application which is somehow ever more disruptive. So annoying.I would be interested in how many times, “#%£¥ off Siri” has been the first registered response when it is activated… 😂
Hasn't Alexa been able to all this for ages?
One of the highlighted features when the Siri remote was introduced in the first placeThanx for the heads-up! I wasn't aware of that.
You can do that nowI use Siri on Apple Watch a lot simply because I don't have to say Hey Siri.
And experience on Apple TV would be miles better if we can click Siri button and talk instead of click and HOLD.
With the latest TVOS updateOn new remote? Wow, if true.
If you set the ATV region to somewhere like US, UK, Ireland, etc., Siri should work for you in English. I live in the Czech Republic and have my Apple TV’s region set to the US. I rarely use Siri on ATV, but when I do it’s in English. If you’re worried about local content/apps, etc. that’s linked to the Apple ID you’re using (my main one is also US based, but I also have an Apple ID set to the Czech Republic that I switch to for apps and such that are only available in the local store.). Regardless of the one I’m using, if I ask for the weather, it still comes up Prague. I, of course, don’t know your use case, but for me it works well like this. They should finally allow setting up Siri on Apple TV in anything other than the local language. At the very least make English an option. I live in the Netherlands and as soon as I change the system language to English, Siri doesn’t work anymore. We are an English speaking household. Makes no sense to not be able to use it.
On the chromecast with Google TV (which we also used to own) google assistant just works in any language you set up.
The overall Apple TV experience is better than Google TV but this one thing is rather annoying. And can’t for the life of me understand why Apple can’t make this work.
I’ll see if it works to add a second account. If you set the ATV region to somewhere like US, UK, Ireland, etc., Siri should work for you in English.
