I agree that if they did some combination with Breast Cancer or some other charity that would of been great. I cannot see this being as popular as the red one but I like that they are meeting some demands of customers.

So from the report I gather this is simply an abritrary thing and is in no way related to all the "pink" projects and initiatives out there associated with breast cancer? Regardless, it will give consumers more choice which isn't a bad thing I guess.

Not bad, now all they have to do is brighten the red one and get rid of the muted ugly green and blue ones.

I believe Apple has to pay the RIAA some money for each iPod sold. Steve said himself that most iPods have pirated music on them because people are fed up with DRM so much. You also pay that fee when you buy a CD or DVD burning drive.

There are neat transparent snap on cases for Macbook. They make it a little thicker but it's a neat protection and it looks pretty neat. Just google "macbook" and "case".

hahaha, that's the funniest thing I've heard all week.
(they don't)

There's places where this is/was true. Canada was looking to pass a measure like this (it failed) - it may have even been a law but only applied to certain things, and not iPods ad the expansion is what failed. France either had one or does have one or was considering one... It's not true in the US but that doesn't make it universally untrue. In the US you pay a tax on blank CDs labeled for use as music discs (and CD to CD stand alone recorders often won't use ones that aren't marked for music)... thinking that extended to iPods isn't all the far fetched.

Honestly, I wish they did. It would legitimize P2P downloads. You paid them for SOMETHING so it would give you the legal right to copy music onto the device.

Well, if this is the unveiling of the week for Apple, you can all count on the MBP update NOT happening this week.... waiting...waiting...waiting...:(

No Pink Nano here...

Not that I want one...
but there isn't any sign of a pink nano on the UK Apple online store (15:15GMT).

I find it "interesting" that a new iPod colour is cause for comment at all. Good grief. Get your favorite magic marker colour and have a ball.:D

Look at yourself. You commented. ;)

For those wanting breast cancer research donations. I agree it would have been a good move by Apple. Instead why not just donate money yourself, even if you don't buy the new pink iPod.

And how much of each sale is being donated to Breast Cancer Research?

I didn't realize that breast cancer research had trademarked the color pink and that corporations can only create a product that appeals to a large segment of the population based on color if they donate a portion of their profits to something that has "claimed" that color. Sorry, I don't want you to think I'm picking just on you. Why anybody should even speculate that Apple should be donating to breast cancer research is beyond me. I they suppose Apple should donate a portion of their profits for any object of any color.

Nope, that was the Zune.

More specifically, the Zune to Universal.

That thing is ugly as ****...

Clearly you aren't the target market.

how incredibly... random

kinda surprised they didn't have this for the 3rd gen in the first place
nice little addition, i suppose
