That's not the implication. My only argument so far is that two months is too soon. Google could make a better OS and other companies could make a better and more widely used tablet, irrespective of what Apple does.
Good comeback. You win.
That's my point. Apple has won the first Battle. But who won another famous battle at Pearl Harbor? Yes, I know you'll say it's a bad analogy![]()
This has got to be one of the best, most "special" comments so far!
You should totally email Jobbs and complain about how lack of flash is impeding on your Hawaii trip and how it's just not fair and stuff.
I'm not completely sure, but you might be able to find information on Hawaii that doesn't require flash.
Actually, it's easy to dismiss things that don't exist. Let's wait until there's an actual competitor to start talking about the competition. This is good news but... There is no competition yet. iPad hasn't won anything. Let's see how this market falls out in a year. One can't dismiss Android and HP/WebOS tablets just yet.
This "magic" is getting really old. I never looked it as magical even when it was announced. Just a larger more capable iPod touch that was more responsive. Thats it.

Really? So just like the "iPad is Magical" nonsense, you decide that iPad owners are smart and everyone else is a douche? I agree this argument is as simple as it can get for iPad owners - having to reason or deal with facts is something iPad owners would rather not delve into, huh?
[ And I did not make a claim about anyone's smartness - I was just alluding a possibility - think of the large number of people who still fall for the Nigerian scams]
Exactly. I'm an EHR template developer, and I've never seen as much excitement about hardware in this industry as I have with the iPad. I've already been able to demo my iPad running our NextGen EHR software using an RDP client. When we finally have an app designed specifically for iPad, the resistance to EHR from our most stubborn docs will melt away. Tablets have been in use in healthcare for years, but the iPad clearly outclasses all of them.Guess I should tell everybody at GE Healthcare to stop porting Centricity applications to iPad? It's not like doctors and nurses really every wanted to get rid of paper charts and take care of patients. After iPad is just paperweight.
dun think the figures would be much higher if the ipad had flash and a camerea![]()
All of the 'benefits' shown in this video are nothing to do with iPad. They're the benefits of wireless internet and portable computers, neither of which are exclusive to iPad.
Great news. I was told that iPad was nothing more than a big iPhone...
So what exactly is wrong with that, anyway?
I think this is actually quite bad news for everyone, save a few who benefit financially from this product selling well (like shareholders or application developers).
The problem is that it's not really that good a product. It's missing many critical features.....
Rated this news as negative.... hear me out....
While 2 million is great news, I expected to hear after the 1 million mark being reached that with the overseas launch and the 3G's we would have been at the 3 million mark 60 days later.
Still good to hear that if the pace continues then the iPad may hit 8 to 10 million by the end of the year.

And that is how the apple fan boy works, instead of demanding to be able to view every single website and have the entire internet like apple commercials claim, they will accept and be grateful for what ever Jobs allows them to view on a device.
It is not about being fair, nothing is ever fair when with apple, it is about having a device that can suit my needs, and a 300 dollar netbook can do far more than a 700 dollar ipod touch.

Production limitations. Looks like pre-builds were only 600-700k, and only now have they gotten up to 1MM per month. The good news is that the near-term pipeline is another 400k units. Hopefully they will be able to expand production another 30%, but it doesn't look like they expected this much success.
Longer term, it will be interesting how they keep up the excitement. IPod and iPhone had no issues there; can we expect the same from the iPad? For me, the app store needs a complete and total redesign. Their categories are weak, and app lists are useless with the 10 models of a single product apps.
I thought that 8mil was what they were hoping for by end of year?
It literally feels like you're holding the future of computing in your hand.
Wash your hands more often.Oh - and keep a cloth with you, that glossy screen ( which is damn annoying at the best of times) gets so damn dirty so damn quickly.
