I wish I could, but it's hard to get a shot of your phone randomly rebooting three times a day.

Mine crashes randomly but I'm just blaming iOS 7 as it's gone through a complete overhaul so I figure they're still working out the bugs. 7.1 should solve everything (I hope).

Ever think you got a defective unit and ask for replacement? You know, millions has been sold and there are no news that significant number have complaints like yours

I did. That's why I'm getting another replacement, and called it bad luck. Did you read the post?

Strange, but still haven't seen a 5c in the wild. Apple probably has enough of them to launch worldwide. I'll bet the 5s is holding things up as they want both introduced at the same time.

make sure they have a lot of gold colors for Saudi Arabia

----------

Starting to see a few shops in London which seem to be getting a regular trickle of units coming in but it's still pretty tight supply.

I see a girl using a white 5c, my first thought was, that's a shame, she either couldn't get a 5s or can't afford it.

Still waiting to get a 5s that isn't defective in some way.

1st phone (got on launch day): Nonstop crashes.
2nd: Home button defective.
3rd: Even more nonstop crashes + blue screen of death.

...

That is a serious bummer musika - especially after getting up at 3am on launch day (if memory of your post serves) to order - although if you got it on launch day maybe you changed those plans. Hopefully your next one is perfect.

I remember there were quite a few (external) quality issues with the 5 launch as well... My guess is that the company contracted to assemble them are under tremendous pressure (from their own executives) to "just get them out" and obviously slipping on some of the quality standards - the downside to subcontracting out your production to a 3rd party.

Lets modify the old saying...After 3 times is a charm? ;-)

But hey, Apple is being helpful so let's just hope that the one I get on Friday is a good one. I guess it's bad luck? :apple:

It's great that they can role these phones out so quickly into countries around the world. Does anybody remember the part of the WWDC 2008 keynote where Jobs showed all of the countries that the iPhone 3G would be heading into, while "Small World" played on the speakers of Moscone?

I'd give up and look for something else

That is some seriously bad luck. WTF....

Finally got my gold 5s on Monday (UK) having ordered at 12:01am on launch day. Seemed like I was waiting forever!

Or....she didn't want to spend the money since some people really don't use the 'newer' features the latest model has to offer.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I actually waiting out in line around 2am that morning!

But it's all right, I'll get the phone. The specialist that I'm in touch with from Apple is being really helpful, and is allocating a phone to an Apple Store for me so I can just go in and pick it up.

The folks at the White Plains store were not too helpful. In fact, they accepted the return of the first phone and then when I had to come back for the second phone, the manager accused me of making up an issue with the first one because 'they didn't even test it, they trusted me'.

He made me feel like a jerk, pretty much, and said that they'd only replace it one more time 'as a courtesy'. So now I can't even get help from that Apple Store, not that I'd want to give them any business after all that.

So I called this time, and they were very helpful.

Here in Hong Kong, the demand for the 5C is extremely low. You can actually buy them for below list price in some of the computer stores around town. These are the same stores that basically try to buy up all the stock when the products are launched in the hope of reselling them for a profit but it has backfired on them with the 5C.

For the 5S, they make a quota available each day at 6am for reservation and pickup in the Apple Store that day but the number they make available is extremely small and is usually gone within 1 minute. I have only ever seen the gold being made available once and they were gone straight away. There did seem to be a glut of Space Grey 64GB models available last Thursday though as they seemed to be available online for much longer than usual and I actually managed to pick one up by walking into a store (Apple Premium Reseller), which surprised me.

That sounds strange. It's really bad luck

But they will have the World Cup 2014. :p

Most Brazilians who can afford the iPhone would buy one in the US anyway due to the ridiculous import taxes in Brazil. It was the most expensive place in the world to buy an iPhone although I think they've started moving production of some of them to Brazil to reduce the cost. Even then, it's still significantly more expensive than in most other countries.

You can see a lot of 5c in Sydney

I find it very hard to believe you got two separate phones exhibiting the same crashing behavior. Could it be more likely that third-party apps are the cause?

Also note the difference between a reboot and a re-spring. The re-sring looks like a reboot, but it quicker and isn't a full restart of the entire phone. Again, third-party apps might be a factor in this.

When you get your phone, are you doing a restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup? Personally, I would avoid that to see if the crashing goes away.

Does this mean

Can't remember from previous launches but does this mean Apple will be able to fill the supply of the US demand by this date too? I tire of this strategy of launching w/out supply to the point of contemplating switch.

I placed order for 5s gold 64 GB unlocked on Sept 25th.. still "processing items" on the status

:(
