I don't know about success, but I can comment on purchasing power, which usually influences decisions such as this. In that sense Brazil has the 6th GDP in the world. Kazakhstan, the 49th.

If the question is logistics, Kazakhstan is not near any countries that actually produce Apple goods (South-East Asia and South America do).

Watch BORAT and you may get the joke:)

But they will have the World Cup 2014. :p

And you know that how? If you have psychic powers, please contact me. I have some investments that need to be reviewed.

In 2010, Brazil was eliminated by a relatively small country, the Netherlands.:eek: I know, you're joking; at the same time, I don't want to spoil their day, and take away their anticipation and joy; Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, France, Argentina, Portugal, or any number of other countries might do that for me, next year. :D

Still waiting to get a 5s that isn't defective in some way.

1st phone (got on launch day): Nonstop crashes.
2nd: Home button defective.
3rd: Even more nonstop crashes + blue screen of death.

But hey, Apple is being helpful so let's just hope that the one I get on Friday is a good one. I guess it's bad luck? :apple:

It's great that they can role these phones out so quickly into countries around the world. Does anybody remember the part of the WWDC 2008 keynote where Jobs showed all of the countries that the iPhone 3G would be heading into, while "Small World" played on the speakers of Moscone?

Hey Musika,

Did your blue screens involved iWork? Just curious...

Yeah, because the americans have to be satisfied before anyone else can get it, right? ;)

No, but people who have already placed the orders (and given money to Apple, yes they do not charge credit cards until they ship, but the delay in the charge is on Apple, not the buyer) should have their orders fulfilled before Apple takes on new waves of orders.

Not just orders from the U.S. but from all the countries that have already had their orders placed (some before the U.S.!)

Mind did...then it went away. However, I figured how to make it occur again...and make it stop. It went away when I went to General> Accessibility> Reduce Motion> On. As soon as I reverted these settings it came back!

I believe it is caused (in my instance) by the parallax animation. I guess iWorks just get's sick and goes blue!

Seriously. I don't know how apple can take customer loyalty so for granted.
Sure they are selling well now, but with the buggy mess of IOS7 and OSX 10.8.5 followed by the insanity of giving retail customers priority over first day orders online, I am not sure how many folks just quit Apple altogether.
I'm in it for the long haul so it doesnt affect me. But regular ole consumers get more finicky all the time.

How I wish India was in the 1st round (Oct 25th). Can't wait to get my hands on it and finally do away with the BlackBerry that I'm using temporarily!

Ummm, I think he simply meant that Brazil will be hosting the 2014 World Cup.

Still haven't got the 32GB gold, which I ordered on 9/20 afternoon.
Could Apple please focus domestic demand first?

interesting to note, Apple does this a few days round the event....

Why take soo long ?

Yeah, you're right. That's probably what he meant.

As far as your iPone is concerned, three weeks to go to Nov1. Are you able to pre-order in India? Unless you want a 5C, or a 5S in Space Gray, the wait times here aren't much better. Enjoy that new iPhone once you get it!

it is really sad to read comments like "let the whole world wait, americans should get iphones first"

1. there is a huge "gray" market of iphones in a lot of countries, that are not having iphones yet. a lot of these iphones come from US and are sold in Europe for about 1000 euros for a 16gb model. it will stop as soon as Apple launch iphones here officially.
2. As I remember from the last year's launch, my country got only a few iphones at first. Really, there were about 10-15 pcs coming online once a week. People had to check almost all the time if there are any iphones available. And as we don't have an official apple store, only resellers, it was not possible to place an order, if the iphones weren't in stock. So literally iphones could get out of stock while you were checking out.
3. There is still 2 weeks till the European launch, and as I see from other threads here, US people are getting their iphones, so I think most of the first orders might be fulfilled in these 2 weeks.

They are still VERY hard to get even here in the US.

Considers where you are in the US. In the Bay Area, all the Apple stores have all the 5S varieties in stock. One manager told me they were only low on stock the Monday after the launch.

India retail is one of the most bizarre distribution networks out there. I'm surprised that you are getting Apple 5C / 5S this year.

Here we (don't) go again.

Brazil, once again, the last one. What a sad little country.
Hey man, that's what protective measures will do to a country.

I'm considering an iPhone 5s... although having an iPhone 5 it does seem like a rather small upgrade.

Send some out east. They are hard to find in Chicago and New York.

Last year the iPhone 5's launch date in Romania was November 2 now it's October 25. Me likey (because I live in Romania).

Steve would never have allowed such a bad launch of a product.

When he was in charge, everyone had thier demand filled. No one had to wait. That is how you control an enterprise. Cook should WATCH AND LEARN!:apple:

Bull. When the original iPhone came out there was a shortage too. I remember only a lucky few in college had them and they were damn near celebrities for a short while.

Also, demand has risen dramatically. If Apple had problems getting 6 million phones out on launch day for the iPhone 5, imagine the problem with 9 million phones. Lets say that they started production 6 months ago in April. Lets also assume that total world wide demand hits 15 million by the end of this month - that is 2.5 million phones per month. That is over 83,000 phones that need to be produced PER DAY.

So since you think Apple screwed up, send them your resume and pitch your brilliant idea on how to supply 9 million phones in 4 days and millions more in the coming months.

It just puzzles me that apple is launching their phone in more countries every couple of weeks when they can't even fulfill the orders they have now. I would also bet that apple is doing this on purpose, only having a certain amount of production per day.

Makes perfect sense. Spreading the love around as much as possible. Can't make everybody happy, so make as many happy as you can.

Huh? That doesn't even make sense given what I just told you. You said it with the last sentence. Americans are early adopters when it comes to Apple products.

Its a case of spite your nose to cut off your face.

I recommend calling up different stores and then shipping from their store stock to your address. I have seen this done several times when local stock is gone.

Dead wrong. When the first iPhone came out, there was massive shortages on almost all outlets. A week later, there was plenty of stock after the consumer purchase patterns were profiled. We are seeing the same here.

This is the first major iPhone launch where there are two different iPhone product lines. Cook and company did a classic "product fork" where you split the features of one product. You have one with less features / higher volume / less margin and another with more features / less volume / more margin.

This is done when you notice two patterns in customer use and sales. The 5S consumers are power users spending top dollar for everything they can pack in while the 5C are "bandwagon" users who want the brand name and basic features. It also gives a path for the lower end customer to upgrade without leaving your product line.

IMO, they are doing a great job and it will be full steam ahead by the holidays.

I was about to order and sent to my brother's house in Virginia but just read this report. I live in Korea. Even though it's the home of Samsung and LG, Apple is very popular. Hopefully the premium isn't that high and I'll be able to grab a gold.

I've been underwhelmed with my Nexus 4 since launch haha .

Sigh. Still waiting for my wife's phone to ship. Ordered before 9AM eastern time launch day. The delivery date has already been extended a week.

I ordered mine at 4 PM EST launch day, and I received it the other day. I did get the white one though, which seems to be the least popular?
