So Thanos did his snap on Apple? Will Phony Stark (Elmo) swoop in to save the day?

I wonder how they're going to spin the USB-C port. Because you know they won't say "we're doing it because we had to."

Something like...

"Eight years ago, Apple pioneered the adoption of USB-C in a MacBook. It's popularity has since soared and is now a part of ALL Apple products except one. Our customers LOVE using it on all Macs, on all iPads and in many accessories. Today, I am so excited to announce that we are completing our transition... in our all new iPhones. blah, blah blah... USB-C in our pro models will transfer data at up to X times faster than Lightning <chart illustrating this>... blah, blah, blah... Now one cable can work with ALL Apple products."

"To maximize the USB-C power across all Apple products, we are rolling out these exclusive Apple USB-C cables, designed- as only as Apple can- to make the most of speed, power and compatibility for all products. With this one cable, you can enjoy all Apple products to the fullest. These cables will launch with iPhone for only $XXX" ($XXX is about 4-10 times the price of a USB-C cable from other sources).

Later, there will be announcements of other Lightning hardware able to be ordered in new USB-C versions and those will also "work best with the exclusive Apple USB-C cable."

In other words, it will sound like it was always Apple's plan and that it would have happened with this launch even without the EU mandate.

I think the interpretation of all the rumors should be viewed a little differently.

Wonderlust is hinting at the desire to explore the outdoors. The titanium dust is for a new iPhone Ultra that will match the Apple Watch Ultra. It will be the only phone with titanium and an action button, maybe additional satellite connectivity, improved water proofing, extra screen brightness and bigger battery. This is the phone that will be delayed at launch, per the rumors. This is also the phone that’s getting a price bump and base storage bump.

The remaining iPhone lineup will be similar to last year, with pro models still being stainless steel, but with Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, A17, and big camera improvements. Regular iPhone 15 will get 3.1 USB-C, A16 processor, and new aluminum colors.
