I only have a few things on my software wish list this year:
  • Dark mode for iOS
  • Updated interface for iPad Pro to make it better suited for productivity
  • Plug an iPad into a Mac and use it as an external display natively using USB-C and no third party app hackery
  • Ability to mount USB-C drives on iPad Pro
  • Improved HomeKit automation/scheduling
  • Make text selection less buggy (finally)
As far as hardware, I hope we see a sneak peak of the new modular Mac Pro with a release date no later than early autumn (surprise release right after the event would be great) and updated iMac Pro and iMac hardware. I'm in the market for a desktop and would like to judge whether the Mac Pro would be worth it and if I could upgrade over time, or if I should go with a lower end iMac Pro or a higher end 5K iMac instead. I'd also like to see Apple designed displays offered in two sizes: 5K 27" and 6K 31.5".
I like this.

Good to see they’re rolling Steve Jobs out for this one!

Hopefully, they'll announce iOS 13 and it won't contain changes that throw developers under the bus. We one man shops spend an awful amount of time just making our apps work with the changes every year. Rather spend my time being innovative. Or on vacation...
The other option is they go with the Windows approach where software from 20 years ago runs... but developers never bother to learn anything new, because they don't need to, and the codebase is full of ancient legacy cruft.

Imagine if Mac devs were still writing in Carbon?

WWDC announced and all anyone posts about is Mac pros. As if that’s what wwdc is supposed to be about.

If there is one headline-worthy hardware product* Apple has acknowledged that could be debuted at WWDC, it would be a new Mac Pro. It's supposed to be a heavy-lifting desktop machine for Serious Work That Only A Giant Tower Can Do™. Sure, the Apple development world is mostly around iOS these days, but the creative-pro-centric heritage is still there.

*An ARM-based Mac would actually fit this better. But that's a skunkworks project until brought on stage.

My favorite time of the year. I can't wait to see what iPad improvements they bring to iOS 13. Reminds me of the old OS X days, but now iOS and iPad take center stage.

because the mac pros hasn't been updated and it was originally announced at WWDC

Or the fact that the lack of Mac Pro updates in 6 years shows Apple's inability as the most profitable company in the world to execute on the simplest of things, cranking out a multi-processor intel box with stock chipsets. Something that Dell or other companies do several times a year. If they don't want to hire more engineers to get their products on regular cycles, why they can't license an existing supermicro motherboard and add some customization to it, and build an enclosure is beyond me. This is all engineering 101. 6 years, can't innovate their way out of a cardboard box

All I ask for iOS, is re-vamped Siri. I’m hoping now that John Giannandrea from Google has been with Apple for more than a year now, we finally start to see some significant improvements across Siri’s platform and infrastructure. It’s time.

Apple releases iMacs with new form factor: "Typical Apple, form over function."
Apple releases iMacs with same form factor: "Lazy Apple has lost its magic."

There is no winning here.
They could win by actually making a great device.

The reason why they are criticisized with "form over function" is because they always go for thinness and the devices overheat as a result. They could just not do that. If they keep the same form and we're unhappy with it, then they get told off for that. If they overhauled a device to make it more functional, even at the cost of it becoming slightly less pretty, then this criticism would stop immediately.
