I’m not offended by this…but the ad does miss the mark.

I think the issue is, the concept of “condensing” all of these powers into the iPad does not translate from these images. Instead, the overwhelming sense is that of destruction of powers/abilities.

There is not a sense that something is being created, and more a sense that something is lost.

I think this partly comes from the visibility of the leaking paint and explosions. Some part of the yield was sacrificed and wasted. Like a poor quality juicer that leaves too much pulp.

It doesn’t really make me want to invest in a new ipad, or the company that makes them.

All that said, I think I will be getting one—independent of this ad!

Jesus, really? it's a good ad. we ACTUALLY going to be complaining about this?

PSYCHOTIC? REALLY? lol ridiculous.
People are so sensitive these days. They can’t take a TV Ad with a machine crushing an office set up, but love to watch people beating each other or beating animals, running over other people on the street and people being pulverize by a bomb.

While I can see where based on the initial feedback they might balk at running the ad to a more widespread audience, apologizing to people who are overly sensitive goes a bit too far.

People who see this as a “destruction of art” frankly take themselves too seriously. I think the intent is distilled creativity of many different forms into a small device.

And I’m defending this spot as somebody who feels like the iPad Pro is a pointless device and that at that price point a Mac is infinitely more useful.

Maybe this ad was made for segregating genuine, true die hard Apple fans from non ones?

The irony of the creative mob engaging in censorship because their feelings were hurt.

I've seen some people have seen the commercial as a tag team along with the AI/LLC generative movement. I can see where that comes pov comes from. I've also seen complaints about the destruction of older/rare instruments.

Personally, I just kinda saw it as one of Apple's less inspired ads.

While I understand the intent, i do see how it could be perceived negatively. I think packing or squeezing it into the iPad could be seen better compared to crushing. I remember reading about Osmo Wiio's law on communication - "If a message can be understood in different ways, it will be understood in just that way which does the most harm."
