You are also whining. You are comparing a hardware upgrade to a software upgrade?
Wrong! I am talking about functionality and usability.
An automobile is a large chunk of hardware. It's made to go from point A to point B and nothing else.
If a car is sold without accessories and you buy it that way then you were satisfied at the time of purchase that that's what you wanted and that the price was acceptable to you.
If, a month later, the identical car at a reduced price is offered for sale and a similar car is offered at the price you paid, but with additional "software" in the form of power windows, power seats and alloy wheels, there's no way in the world that the dealer is going to retroactively install the additional accessories on you car or give you a rebate for the difference in price.
That's the way of the business world. Products are sold; products are improved; prices are dropped on older versions.
That, especially, is the way of the consumer electronics world. Look at computers. One day you pay $1000 for a 40GB, 1GHz computer with X amount of RAM. Two months later you can pay $800 for a 120GB, 3GHz with 5X RAM. Same thing with Digital Cameras. Same thing with iPods.
Grow up folks, quit crying about this subject. You got what you paid for.
