Windows XP runs well - Windows 7 at acceptable speed
but then the app will only live for a couple of days on your deviceIf you want it to run better with JIT enabled, you can build it in Xcode, too-

not enough - you also need to run an older version of iPadOS - from before Apple cut out the virtualization code (16.X if I remember well)Hey JIT is just a way to compile code at runtime that gives huge benefits to emulators but unfortunately Apple sees it as a security risk, they can’t vet the code ahead of time.
On the Virtualisation, it’s not available even on M1. Unless you get the app from an alt store:
For sure it would - they could even start to integrate MacOS with iPadOS. I would love this.I wish they'd fully lean in to emulation with full support and power afforded to it
They might be surprised how it helps iPad Pro sales actually

Oh the irony if the iPad would become the best Windows tablet. All while macOS cannot be run.
I'm having a hard time completing the install. It's kind of complicated (for me).

There's almost no GPU acceleration and no use case. You install it, see the ****** experience and then delete it to get your disk space back.
This type of thing is for social media nut jobs to post screenshots with caption 'LooK moM Iam sO amaZe I installED useLeSS Windows XP on iPad. PleaSe Follow mE to LeArn How I do it'
To others it may well still be useful. Just because it’s useless to you doesn’t mean it’s useless to everyone else.Cool.
Now that you geeked out at that stuff that is useless in the modern world you can delete it and get your disk space back.
the ones you mentioned should run with decent speed - however the video drivers are restricted. Best experience would be XP 64 bit Edition. This is like a dream come true. I would like to run old OS like Windows 95/98/ME/2000 just for the experience, not to run games. Sure, performance is bad, but I don’t care. I just want to look at them.
What’s the catch?

Thanks Europe!
Maybe I understand this wrong but isn't the current ipad multiple times faster than a machine from 2002?
XP was rubbish back then and it is even more rubbish today.
All Apple users laughed at XP back then, so now we going to say woW lOok hoW AmZinG???
Instead of chucking words on the internet use some logic. There's no reason to install really rubbish and really old software on a new device or computer.
All Apple users? Are you sure you can speak for the entire Apple community? Again, for you there is no reason to install older OSes on your device. For others, there are plenty of good reasons. People have different preferences, needs, and use-cases.XP was rubbish back then and it is even more rubbish today.

And why should we assume this can only run Windows XP when it can run Linux distros and other OSes as well? If you don’t have a use-case for it, that’s fine. I probably don’t have a use-case for it, but I know several people who could benefit from it, and I recognize the value of having that option for those who will find it useful. The real question is. If Mac users thought XP was a pile of dung back then....why install that pile of dung today?
Not if you sign it with your own Dev Account.but then the app will only live for a couple of days on your device
(at least that happened with one I developed for myself) - unless they changed that
