Here's hoping we all see our machines next week. I have to travel the following week and want to bring my shiny new PB along...

Just go told that BTOs are trickling in from those who ordered around the release date. Some delays are pushing deliveries towards the end of the week... not sure if this is Apple talk for delays rolling onto next week... 🙁

I got mine 😀 Today. I'm on it right now actually.
I ordered mine last satuday, so 8-9 days BTO. And 2 of those days it was sitting in star track express's storage.
I've got SO much to download, haha.

Yeah I orderer the Saturday of the Anzac day weekend, so I think they didn't put the order through until the Tuesday 25 April... so its been almost 2 weeks at least!

I got the 15" powerbook (the upper one).
128 graphics upgrade
Ram 'upgraded' to one chip
Faster hard drive
Superdrive as default.
It was delivered today at 12 on the dot.
What more would you like to know? I'll check back here tonight if anyone has any questions. So far.....so good! Screen is beautiful. I haven't run the dead pixel checker (don't think i want to!) but I've looked while using it, and playing dvds, and haven't seen any. PHEW.
I hope everyone else gets theirs soon!

It seems like that is exactly the case, which really isn't right. I don't think it even makes any business sense, as apple needs public and reseller support.
Other option is the resellers haven't put the orders through straight away (no matter what they tell you), but somehow I seem to favour the apple screwing you guys over one a fair bit more.

Oh, I should add this incase it will help anymore. My estimated ship date from the day I ordered it, to even today (it still showed it) was the 18th.
At the end of last week it just suddenly come up Shipped and by friday it was sitting in star track express's storage.
Oh, a tip for people ordering from apple. I don't know if this was just me, but it didn't give me a tracking number. That bit just remained blank after it shipped, but it said the carrier was STE. So I went to star track's website and tried different numbers apple had sent me, and found if you go to Track and Trace, select Reference number and then enter the number "Apple Delivery Number" they email you when it ships, it lets you in to track it.

😱 yeah your probably right. I need this baby this week so I can take it to AusCERT 2004 next week. If I get it then there will be lost of people checking it out from IT security and government. If I dont have it then I will probably have to lug along an old work laptop and whine over dinner drinks about susupicions of Apple Australias self bias...
