FYI, Apple doesn't make anything. They design things. My devices don't say made by Apple but Designed by Apple. We already have designs for FaceMasks and Face Shields. We just don't have the local capacity to make them anymore since we shipped all that to China.

You just hit the nail on the head. We don't make anything anymore. We don't even manufacture any of our medication that we have created to cure ourselves! And Apple doesn't really make anything in America anymore except the Mac Pro, which few people will buy and definitely nothing is manufactured by Apple in California anymore.

I still have an old issue of MacWORLD that is super thick when that magazine was really doing well and they did an exclusive tour of Apple's brand NEW California Macintosh manufacturing facility. Very HIGH TECH, amazing pics of robotics and all. But all those California people lost their jobs thanks to, umm, probably John Scully initially, but even with Steve Jobs coming back the jobs shifting overseas continued until there there were none left.

No matter how you look at it, that is sad, and sorry, but $10 million is chump change to Tim Cook.
He could donate that much personally with ease.

No good deed by Apple gets done without the company and/or Tim Cook then taking the apparently obligatory beating from assorted posts in one or another thread at MacRumors, despite the nice writeups that MacRumors brings us about these good works.

Anyway well done Apple, and thanks to MacRumors for the news about it.

Like they matched yours. Oh wait...

Grow up. People are dying, and no this isn't sport or open season to entice. When you get off you're pompous, self assumed better than thou xxx, and make an equal or better effort then MAYBE you qualify. I'm not happy with Apple atm personally, but what they have done to help I applaud, because no one twisted their arm, and they are making a difference for the better, not just lying around being a sarcastic Ungrateful bacterial breeding ground, like your statements and attitude are. They have a sense of compassionate responsibility and they prove it. That is something I believe if each of us used ourselves would change our attitude a great deal.

No Apple isn't a manufacturer, any longer, but that doesns't make them less relevenat or important. That just makes them better business people. We wouldn't be here talking about them if we didn't have some kind of love/hate relationship with them to one degree or another., but there are occasions such as this when our ourselves or our loved ones are putting their lives in danger to help others, and Apple steps forward and helps, and does make a real difference, then maybe those who who obviously have no loved ones at risk or invested should back down in respect of those who who do.

It's easy to complain when your wife isn't director of nurses isn't it? Let's trade places and see what the view is from this perch ok? Now if you really want to feel good about yourself use that quote in your reply on me, because some of talk, some of us do, and I'm not talking about my wife. I know with a handle like that and you most likely being head of PTA and a crossing guard at school, you come to a dilbert site like this to beat up on geeks, so you can better about yourself, I get that:). That's why I'm here too. Are you happy? You got your 15 mins of fame.

Thank you Apple...
