You should put CM9 on your Touchpad and see just how stable ICS is on it. I have zero complaints. ICS in its vanilla flavor works just as well as ios does.

Actually not a bad idea. I originally got it because I was a fan of webOS but I'll check that out for sure.

You wont regret it. It is very simple to do. And once you have it loaded, you can download the nightly build updates direct on the TP, without ever needing to plug back into a pc. I have been downloading the nightlies and they have all been stable. The only things that dont work yet are the mic and camera. The cyanogenmod team will eventually get to that, but for now ICS on the TP is awesome.

Again, thats due to cheap tablets with crap hardware for $150-$200. Oh and you can thank the Kindle Fire for all those Android tablet sales, although calling it an Android tablet is a joke. It runs a very watered down version of Android, doesn't advertise it any ad and they were blocking the Market up until a few months ago. Take the Kindle sales out and Android tablets wouldn't have crap aside from failed devices like the Tab, Xoom, View and all the other junk sitting on store shelves or being discontinued.

C-mon dude, Apples products are made in China so there isnt anything extravagant about them. They arent anything more special than where the other guys have theirs made. They are made in a sweat shop by kids.

Apple uses some Samsung parts in their phone and use Intel processors in their computers and used to use Motorola processors so please......stop with the "cheap hardware" comments. I have some good friends that own and operate a iPhone, iPad, etc repair shop and they get all their parts CHEAP and many of them are OEM. You like paying Apples markup....good for you!

Some of you people are so juvenile. Just use what you like or by just what name is on the device if that makes you happy. It doesnt mean everything else is crap

Awesome, I'll look into it, thanks!

You seem to be active in almost every single thread on this site with one single message - android is junk and IOS is great.

are you aged 7 or something. Grow up and have an adult debate.

Save your receipt with that Android phone. As soon as you find yourself having to charge your phone well before your day is done, have your apps start force closing or have to pull your battery out because your phone froze up (or one of the many other glitches that make Android such a pleasure) you will be thinking a bit differently :)

You're blinded by hatred for the android platform for some bizarre reason. Not everybody has a horrible experience with android.

My battery level is 80% - 5 hours 9 minutes off the charger. By my reckoning that will last me 25 hours and I'm going to be asleep for a fair few of those hours. Thus having to charge before the day is done isn't something I have to worry about.

Apps force close sometimes, just like they do on iOS. It's not an issue because it very rarely happens. I've used a htc desire, Samsung galaxy s2 (current phone) and my girlfriends htc sensation xl. All of them are stable.

I've only had to pull the battery on my phone once and that was while I was rooting, so that can't b attributed to android.

Just because you had a bad experience with it doesn't mean everybody else will.

Because I ave owned 7 and all but two were problems, not to mention the buggy OS and lack of updates. 80% 5 hours off the charger means you are hardly touching it. Maybe a few quick calls and a few texts. How many times have you had to hard reset your phone? Fandroids are so blinded by their specs and supposedly superior OS that they actually believe that having to restart your phone, carry extra batteries and having to hack their phone to get it working right are actually normal.

All fanboys are blinded to criticism of their preferred product and fail to realize that every option has pros and cons and that not everyone agrees on where they're willing to compromise. These are subjective matters regardless of your experience.

...and your so blinded by your own experience that you assume that all Android users have experiences like this. Trends are not defined by a single data point (e.g. your experience).

What's the word defined by continually doing the same thing and expecting different results? Like buying 7 Android phone and not being happy with them.

Not sure if you're inferring that I'm a fanboy, but I'm not, I regularly criticise Android. I'm not going to criticise it for things that don't actually occur on my phone though. I haven't rebooted (if that's what you mean by "hard reset") my phone for about a week.

You're right that I hadn't touched my phone much earlier because I was at work.

My phone is hacked but only because I was sick of waiting for ice cream sandwich, not because it didn't work okay before. :p

Android is superior to iOS in some ways and the same can be said in reverse. Neither one of the two beats the other in all areas.

Good points. My 4s has been off the charger 4hrs 38mins and I am still at 96% battery life :)

What's so good about it? My wife has Samsung Galaxy SII which she keeps on stand-by but uses rarely. She recharges her phone once a week.

Sounds like she really is a model smart phone user. If I never used my iPhone either it would last a week on standby.

Pretty sure his point was that if you don't use your phone (like the person who is proud of a phone being off a charger for 5 hours and only draining 4% battery), it's going to have model charge times. Standby times don't mean a whole lot. Usage times are what really matter to most.
