Apple Begins Accepting Online Orders for New Apple TV

Hopefully they will be available in stores this weekend. I was planning to stop by and pick up the magic track pad, so it would be nice to get both in one trip.

Ordered mine in the app store. I always forget that comes up quicker. i went with the 32gb this round. If they revamp it next year I'll get the larger one if I like this one. I'll retire this one to my parents or nephews.

Ordered mine. I wonder how long it'll be before delivery times slip.

I don't think they will, or if they do, it won't be by much. This doesn't seem like a particularly difficult to manufacture product, and I don't expect it to be in particularly high demand. At any moment, if Apple secures the right deals, they could completely upend the cable industry. But they haven't done that yet, and until they do, I'm not buying the Apple TV.

Apple TV (4th generation) 64GB $199.00

-------------------------------

Hope I am in the '3 day' range .... I really want to play with it over the weekend.

Yes! My package is already delivered! Pre-ordered via a national retailer here a few days ago when they started accepting them, with no special expectations. I mean, a retailer can accept preorders just because they want to grab sales, not ship early. But I'll be damned... They must have bulked up with Apple TV's in advance. Shipping confirmation just now, with an actual trackable package id.

So has it shipped, or has it been delivered?

I wonder how many seconds it will until third party condom cases become available for the Apple WiiMote. Apple seems to have the strap covered so that they can blame you when you don't spend an extra $13 to prevent yourself from flinging the remote at your tv.

Also, how secure can a strap be that is attached via the lightning connector port?

On the other hand (pun?), can said lightning connector wrist strap also be used to carry around your iPhone / iPad / Pencil / Magic Trackpad / Magic Mouse 2?

I thought about that, but whenever I buy the smallest capacity version I come to regret it in the years to come. Not sure why I needed it, but for the sake of the nominal difference in cost I went for it.

Now the waiting game....

That is exactly why I went with 64GB, since these days you no longer can upgrade memory. Probably overkill, but better safe than sorry.

Jus ordered mine and it will be here next week. Went with the 32GB as I don't see myself really using much storage on it.

I went with a 32 GB model. Had to use the Apple Store app on the iPhone since the website didn't have it up yet.

good so maybe now by next week we'll have some complete you tube walkthrough's of the UI, from what limited views I've seen of the "Computer" area, not much has changed from the ATV3, sure the iTunes area is all glossed up, but I suspect the way it presents vids streamed from your PC I bet is the same, and that will be unacceptable. Sure there will be plex, but I can do that on my Xbox One and it works great, I expect An apple tv this long in development to really bring it, we'll see but I'll wat to give them my $$$

so do we know by now if countries without siri remote support, will still get the same remote and just get that feature with a software update later on? or will they need a new remote?

ATV4 really lacks a "killer" launch app or at least collection of neat or useful apps. I'm only interested in the 64GB model, but only if there are apps to fill up that storage. Right now the ATV4 doesn't look too much different than ATV3 except for Siri and the ability to play apps. I'm not too encouraged by the marquee apps demoed when ATV4 was announced. Typically consoles like PS and Xbox list key Day One apps during pre-order. Nothing here. So I'm still on the fence until I see something that makes the ATV4 more useful than ATV3.

I agree with this, except the fact that I'm using this as a streaming device and the PS4 will be for games, don't think I'll ever use even half the space on this thing

All music, photos and movies will be streamed, nothing local. Max app size is 200MB also. Plus, I expect a 4K model in the next year or so I'll be upgrading then anyway
