I'm sure they will all offer a price for their 50 billionth download. Even if we don't live long enough to see it.
 
When I first saw this headline I didn't think much of it, but 50 billion in that short of a window?! Amazing.:)

Plenty, on both sides of everything it seems. ios vs android, osx vs windows, politics, etc. It has escalated with the anonymity of the internet unfortunately.

It doesn't say anywhere that it HAS to be used for Apps. iTunes credit is iTunes credit is iTunes credit. Just like you can use an "App Store" gift card to buy iTunes music, movies, books, etc. and vice versa.

In fact, the link you provided says the exact opposite of the point you're trying to make.

You should read the quote and my comment to it better, I refereed that link so people can see it's not Apps only, so you say what I say, you agree with me.

Just took this screenshot from the apple uk page, there was just a glitch, it lasted maybe 40 seconds.

If you win the $10,000 Gift Card you have to pay income taxes out of your own pocket. That means that the $10,000 Gift Card prize will cost the winner around $2,500, in actual real dollars. In exchange for paying $2,500 the winner will receive a 100% non-tangible non-asset. :eek:

When is the actual sale of an app counted - when you hit download or after it has finished downloading.

Best guess: short after hitting download button & confirmed password & committed transaction in iTunes Backend servers.
Don't think finished download will be relevant.
 
Hmmm I believe that you can gift apps and credits as well right? So say if my sis in the US won could she gift credits on to my account here in Switzerland or vice-versa?

I can't gift to my son inside the same country with iTunes credits on my account; tried; dont let me.
