I'd fall of my chair killing myself laughing is Apple's own WWDC live events app did *not* have this.

Apple really needs to prioritize... their stuff first, then other apps second.

It's their product after all,, why shouldn't the company who makes it be the first one?

Thank you.

Where did I say it was imaginary? Show me, I'll wait.....
Where did I say that you said the issues that I and other people are having are imaginary? Show me, I'll wait.....
If you've not troubleshooted properly or taken it to Apple then you've no real basis to complain.
This is bull. I have been using Apple products for a very long time, while some of them have had issues I did not need to take the devices to the Apple store everytime. Almost every issue I have had with all my devices were fixed by software/firmware updates. That said, I have plenty of basis to complain about any issues my Apple devices are having, regardless if I taken them to the Apple store. Especially if someone in the thread asked me my opinion. If it doesn't work as advertised, I have a right to complain.
The amount of people that I see complain then when asked if they've actually tried troubleshooting or taking it to an Apple Store, it's like they just want to moan for the joy of it.
I am not sure what anyone else experience with the Apple store is, but for me, it is not great. I do not have one local, I am right of the middle of two stores. So I have to either drive to a place that the crime rate is horrible, or drive to another place and pay $16 in tolls, not counting the fuel.

One I get there, I usually have a really long wait, this is with an appointment. For the 3 different devices (ATV1, Mac Mini Solo, iMac) that I have had to take there, everyone passed the genius bar diagnostic hardware test. They claim the issues must be a software issue. I returned the MM, since it was within the return period, and there was lots of forum pages about the BT and AirPort module causing issues on this model. The iMac and ATV1 I left there for extended diagnostic testing, and then both picked up the next day, another trip to the Apple store, with neither device showing issues.

Fast forward a few months later for both, I took them back again because of the same exact issues. The ATV1 was out of warranty, their tests showed that the graphic chip was failing. They would not honor the warranty even though I took it in there for the same exact reasons. The iMac would not boot at all, not even for their tests. I had 12 days left of my Apple Care, so the repair was covered. I had to leave it with them, and take another trip to pick it up a few weeks later.

My point of this is that for some people, dealing with going to the Apple store isn't always an easy task. The issues maybe hardware related, and I might make a trip to the Apple store to find out, but even if it is a hardware issue issue, that doesn't mean Apple will catch it, and I wasted what will probably be many trips to the Apple store.

Plus, even if all the bugs (or hardware) issues were fixed, there is still plenty to like about the ATV3 vs the ATV4.
Also, as I said, the UI is basically the same as the ATV3, just inverted colour wise, which you skipped over.

When I was referring to the UI, I was talking about the UI of the apps that the two models share, such as Netflix, and YouTube. Although, I really do not like the lighter background on the ATV4 when compared to the darker background of the ATV3.

Here...

So the ATV4 working great for you? That is wonderful. I am happy for you and the many others that enjoy the ATV4. As for me and many others, the issues are not imaginary. Maybe it is a hardware issue, and maybe I might check it out with Apple. Also, maybe the things you do on your ATV4, is different than the things I do, and you do experience the same things..

Sounds like you've not troubleshooted properly and you would prefer a device to whine over not working than taking it to get Apple to look at it and possibly fix your issues? Arguing against doing any of that just renders your complaints moot. You have a right to complain if you've explored every avenue to resolve any problems. In a perfect world, every one of a product would work exactly the same, but it doesn't and QA isn't perfect, some duds slip through, just like with all companies. That's why it's worth getting it checked out rather than have a potentially broken device.

I always book an appointment in advance, I pay £15 for a train ticket and due to booking in advance I'm seen pretty quickly. I've done this a few dozen times in the last 5 years and it's always been seamless, bar 1 time where I didn't have an appointment and I had to wait 45 minutes.

As for UI, you weren't specific in the point I was replying to, which just seemed like general UI.

5.
Having a user friendly UI. The ATV3 UI is very simple and easy to use. My baby-boomer parents learned how to use it and are happy with it.

YouTube UI isn't much different between the 2 devices.

I am posting my experience, and the experience of some other people. No where on this post is anything me mentioning you calling my issues imaginary. But, this is a silly thing to argue about.

As for UI, you weren't specific, we're not mind readers. Netflix and YouTube UIs aren't much different between the 2 devices.
Here are plenty of posts. If it is not clear then, hopefully it is now.

I think the ATV4 versions look nicer at first, until you try to use them.

The UI on these apps are much better designed. Trying to browse stuff to watch on Netflix on the new ATV4 is a PITA. The ATV3 version is much easier to navigate and use

All the apps I use on the ATV4, are already on the ATV3, and the ATV3 versions are better IMO.

My family uses Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, HBOGo, Showtime, NBC, Fox, FX, USA, Weather, and the computer app. All these apps are on the ATV3, and they are better on the ATV3 imo.

The Netflix UI on the ATV3 is totally different than the Netflix UI on the ATV4. It isn't even kind of the same.

As for YouTube, the UI is similar, but the ATV4 version is even more basic than the ATV3 version. One example, being able to view similar videos from the pause screen is a really nice feature for me. Example, if I am watching a video about iMacs, and I want to see similar ones, or more from the subscriber, I hit pause on the ATV3, and a menu pops up with other videos, playlists and such.
Also, hiding the small preview menu when paused is also nice, especially if trying to read something. This is not just a YouTube app issue.

I always book an appointment in advance
So did I. I am pretty sure I posted that.

I was posting mine as a counterpoint, because your experience is not the only experience. Or is no one allowed to post their own differing experience in response to you?

As for the imaginary thing, you said it in response to my post, you quoted me and said it, thereby heavily implicating that I was calling your issues imaginary. Your own choice of words.

So did I. I am pretty sure I posted that.

Nope, not in the post I replied to.

I like the back and forth, although on this particular issue, it is pointless. It is not discussing the ATV topic, just discussing choice of words for describing a situation. Kind of a dead topic, especially since I clarified what the post was about.

I posted booking my appointment in advanced in post 79, you quoted a few paragraphs from my post in your post 80.

See?

Anyways, this is really off topic, and unproductive. It is not longer about the pros and cons of the ATV, but now the me defending whether or not I mentioned that I had an appointment, which I did, have an appointment.
