The only thing that stops me from getting a link bracelet or an Hermes band is that I do not know if this will be compatible for v.2 or v.3.

Does it really matter? I mean it will still be compatible with the original watch. And now that Apple has added the ability to pair multiple watches to the same device, and you clearly enjoy charging up the look with bands, why wouldn't you keep your original watch to swap out, even if you buy the next two models?

I think we all have to start thinking about the Watch less as a commodity in need of constant upgrade, and more as a watch you'll keep forever, in which case the 2nd gen models may or may not have new features or faster processors, but if they change enough to require different bands, then they will also have different styles. Think of it as buying a slim Movadao with only two hands for formal occasions, a Chronograph for sporting occasions when you might need the additional functionality, and another basic watch for daily wear with a second hand. You may have a whole new set of bands to swap out with the 2nd gen and 3rd gen watch as well, but it's all part of your horological collection. Maybe the 1st gen Watch is the one with the Hermes band.

The only reason this might not work for someone is because they actually need the functionality of later generation models, and would otherwise never swap it out for a watch without that new feature.

They are very pretty but at this point I'm more interested in putting my money toward the bands that might introduce additional functionality. I'm not sure such bands will be released but if they are, I'm eager to see them.

I wonder if I'll ever see a Hermes band on anyone around where I live. We have got plenty of women and men in the tech industry who are also fashion conscious. It will be interesting to see if they go for it. So far I see a lot of Milanese loops and sport bands. I don't see many leather bands around.

This is what I like about Apple.

They're willing to dabble in this strange voodoo expensive world of fashion. Not to mention they are seemingly finding success. Who else in consumer electronics have been successful in this area? No one.

Would I buy that? No. Would anyone here buy that? Doubt it. But that's the point.

We arnt their target market for this initiative and that's just fine.

But does the hospital band come in Rose Gold? Otherwise, pass.

Its hard to believe Huh? Can you believe their are carnivorous People who consume meat from a wild animal? Unbelievable!

That's a valid point. Watch 2 will not change the casing structure for the bands to be fitted. The Watch 2 will most likely have updated casings and internals/health sensors. Version 3 of the Watch may change. My $450.00 Link Band should be compatible for at least version 2. Watch 2 is also completed at this point and it will start production relatively soon I would think.
They can implement that... I'm sure. Lol

Well, I have the Apple Watch Hermes. I might get a second band (perhaps a dark color for more formal occasions).

Has this been ever clearly answered? Do the Hermes edition watches come with a special version of iOS? Or are the bands triggering "hidden" faces using the diagnostic port?
They have a special version of iOS. If I take my Hermès band off, I can still access the Hermès watch face.

Hmm. Very interesting indeed. Taking the trouble of maintaining separate iOS builds for other brands seems …excessive.
Not really. The Edition has subtly different watch faces, as well (gold or rose gold to match the band and case color). Chances are that it is just a setting or a minor update. Hermès owns the rights to the fonts that are used in its watch faces. What it did was license them for use in the Apple Watch Hermès line.

No matter what color this hermez band comes in, it doesn't hide how ugly it is. Not for me, can't stand leather and the environmentally destructive manufacturing process behind it, also don't need such a purchase to show off my wealth.

The orange one, I'm using a blue chronograph face on the watch. It looks great! In all honesty this band is relatively reasonable considering what bands for watches on the higher end go for. I remember buying a band for my Breitling that was at least this expensive and a Breitling is probably on the lower end of the luxury watch spectrum price wise.

Very nice. I wish we had an Apple store near us that offered them in store. I'd like to get my wife a double tour band, but I want her to see it first. Sadly the closest store is about 8 hours away.

That's very nice. Did you ask about the faces?
