Actually, of the two clear cases I tried from Amazon, the bottom of the case interfered with the bottom swipe features. Apple clearly thought about this with their case. I think it's overpriced like most Apple products, but this one appeals to me more than the cheaper alternatives.
Exactly the reason I've ordered Apple's version. Hitting the bottom "lip" of other cases can get annoying since I use my phone a lot... minor design detail, but does make a difference!

OT Could someone suggest me a good film screen protector for the XR ? (not tempered glass, thanks)

Wow, what an innovatieve design. You’ll only see this coming from Apple. There is a video somewhere where johny Ive talks about the vision and craftsmanship behind the design. Magical

$39 dollars? That's a steal ... there are no other makers of clear cases on the market at all.
So clear thumbs up from me.

Some will even go as far to say that this is Apple 'innovation' at its finest... ;)

Looks like any cheap clear case

But it has an Apple logo on it... wait... does it? LOL

Would it kill them to post an alternate view? Can someone please go buy this and give us a side/front angle view? Much thanks. Also curious what the texture feels like.

LOL good point, I was thinking the same.

I will buy one, take some photos and send you - all for just $39 US.

Apple has begun selling its long-awaited
iPhone XR clear case on
iphone-xr-clear-case.jpeg

Apple says the case is crafted from a blend of clear polycarbonate and flexible TPU plastics, with a scratch-resistant coating applied to both the exterior and interior. The clear design is appropriate given the iPhone XR is available in a variety of colors, such as yellow, blue, white, coral, and (PRODUCT)RED.

Apple's description of the case:This is the first Apple-branded case available for the iPhone XR since the device launched October 26. Apple
mentioned the case in its iPhone XR press release in certain countries back in October, but it only became available to purchase today, limiting customers to third-party options until now.

(Thanks, Joshua!)

10 bucks says this yellows in a month.

Not implying Apple's quality is shoddy, just I haven't found a clear case yet which doesn't.
i bought a caseology clear waterfall and it was $9.99 and has more protection. So far no yellowing but I’m sure it will in 3 months

$11.99 for Spigen :p
That's exactly what I have. Love it. I've had Spigen cases on my last several iPhones. Yes they do yellow somewhat after a while. That is not indicative of the quality though. All clear TPU cases yellow. It is simply a characteristic of the material.

I recently bought a Huawei Mate SE, which comes with 4GB of memory, 64GB of storage, dual SIM, includes a built in FM Radio, a 5.93 FHD+ display and Huawei gives you a free clear case in the box, all for $229. I'm glad i'm brand agnostic cause I sure as hell would not drop $40 on a clear case after spending $700 on the company's smartphone, ouch.

Wow it cost 53$ in denmark:eek:
[doublepost=1544054171][/doublepost]Its funny that they dont show the xr from the front with a case on!
Almost like there trying to hide how bulky it looks

I wonder how many on here moaning have bought an Apple Apple Watch strap?...... bet it’s more then who care to admit it... yeah, real value there.

The difference being between a clear case and Apple Watch bands, Apple Watch bands are more personable, offering a variety of colors, which are significantly more well made over third party watch bands.

Why would someone want to pay $40 for a clear case, when there are plenty of third-party options available, where some of Apples watch bands are exclusive in color for a limited time, that some third-party manufactured do not offer. Significant difference in what you’re comparing in your post.

That guy really struggled getting the case off the packaging and putting it on the phone. Maybe he should cut off the whiskey

Haha I love a sloppy hands on. Ridiculous

He got it out there first at least

[doublepost=1544061386][/doublepost]Got a clear Spigen Liquid Crystal for my XR on Amazon for $12. It’s solid as hell. I’m willing to bet it’s the exact model Apple is offering.

"When we sat down to design a case for the XR we wanted something that would showcase the beauty underneath. What's more elegant than thermo-injection-moulded clear plastic? Every angle, every opening was carefully placed to be perfectly symmetrical with the XR while still providing the highest level of protection."

I could almost hear Sir Jony Ive talking directly over my right ear, soothing my rotten apple soul when I read your post. This is exactly what he will said if the case ever got a presentation on stage.
Or are you Jony himself?
