There’s have been some Geekbench results online and honestly, it’s just a sliver faster than the 2018. Nearly identical. LiDAR is cool and the camera.. but if the 2018 had some major discount, I’d pick that one up. It’s still a blazing fast iPad.

I hope you're joking!

Coronavirus is everywhere but China now.

You really believe the ministry of misinformation? Even their own citizens don't.

Some strains of CoronaVirus have been shown to live up to five days on plastic, glass and metal (non-copper) surfaces and that's not factoring in new mutations.

Only thing that seems to be effective to shorten the life (~4 hours vs ~3-5 days) is switching to copper based materials for products. Jet cockpits have gold coating for defrosting so wonder if they can do anti-viral copper coating on glass.

My wife says her is due for delivery in Canada on Monday, but I wonder if she misread the notice.

Apple on Wednesday introduced new iPad Pro models equipped with an A12Z Bionic chip and new LiDAR Scanner, which is designed to deliver enhanced augmented reality experiences.

The first iPad Pro orders are expected to start arriving to customers on Wednesday, March 25, and to make sure the tablets reach consumers on time, Apple has begun shipping the new iPad Pro models from China.

Apple is not yet providing shipping details through its own tracking system, but customers in the United States who are receiving their packages through UPS can use the track by reference feature with a phone number or an order number to track their packages.

UPS My Choice, which displays upcoming deliveries in a calendar view for those who sign up for an account, also lists iPad Pro shipments that are in transit at the current time. Signing up for a UPS My Choice account is free.

While the new 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are expected to arrive next week, the new Magic Keyboard with trackpad that Apple debuted alongside them is not going to be available for purchase until sometime in May.

Orders placed today for the iPad Pro will arrive to customers between April 3 and April 7, with early supplies of the device available for March 25 delivery having been exhausted. Pricing on the new 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799 for 128GB of storage, while pricing on the 12.9-inch model starts at $999 for 128GB of storage.

I'll be glad when these notices no longer say "from China"

I'll be honest. I'm not buying the new MacBook Air right now solely because if I did I wouldn't touch the package for a month out of an abundance of caution (if something is wrong with my item I like finding out the day of delivery and returning immediately). I'm doing that with all of my domestic packages, too. I know - most likely overkill, but better safe than sorry.

It's time we move all production from China back to the U.S. to avoid supply china interruptions because... 'Merica. 🤣 🤣 🤣
I expect that when they finally build another factory in the US, it’s going to be very highly automated - lots of robots industrial robots and only a handful of workers. And they’ll put them not just here, but lots of places - North America, South America, Europe, etc. gets around lots of import tariffs and such, and helps if a continent becomes temporarily troublesome (doesn’t help as much if everywhere becomes troublesome like now). More resilient - the solution isn’t to move from China to one other place, it’s to move from China to every place.

What the hell. Clicked to read about shipping and get fear mongering responses about the Possibility packages from China being infected. 🙄.

I ordered mine but it is still in processing. I see a lot of comments about waiting for this and that.
Well I decided to jump in on a 128G 11" Wifi Pro because I REALLY need a new iPad as my current one is several years old and limited to iOS12.
More importantly because the US$ is surging in value against all other currencies and I'm buying now before Apple raises its prices outside of the US. That and availability. This could go the same way as the AirPods when they first launched with up to 3 months waiting given how much down time there's been in China.
Maybe I shouldn't unwrap it and see what I can get for it at the end of April...

Alternatively, you could wash your hands thoroughly after opening the package.

Mines still showing processing but I’m not sure it means anything. My Apple Pencil 2 is also showing at shipped as of today but it has been on my table since Thursday. The tracking system is extremely out of sync.

1. Can’t wait to get the new iPad Pro - I can see it on my UPS app (automatically detects packages shipped to me).

2. And most saliently - reading through the posts I can tell who has kept up on peer reviewed reading about the virus and who gets their info from twitter and Facebook. As well as who has agency and who doesn’t.

3. Don’t fight your body. Your body is always in search of homeostasis. Balance. Find balance as well in your approach to this virus vs extremes. When in doubt get the fastest shipping, and maintain a sterile field during delivery and unpacking. (google it if you don’t know how - it’s a life changing skill that isn't limited to an operating room)

Whomever said speed of transit is meaningless when last mile delivery can be the determining step of contamination - you definitely are a thinker.

Enjoy your tech and stay safe!

Coronavirus is everywhere but China now.

I just don't understand how people still trust misinformation from a regime that covered up the Great Famine, Tienanmen Square protest, the Reverse Merger scandal (stole billions from Americans), the cryptocurrency pump and dump scams (stole billions from Americans and Europeans), and numerous virus outbreaks.

Once a new virus strain comes into existence it exists forever. It will always circulate among us. SARS is still among us. Chickenpox, Small Box, Polio, Measles still exist and we are constantly fighting to hold it back. There have been a number of recent outbreaks of diseases we thought had been beaten in places like California because vaccination uptake dropped.

There's no vaccine for this yet. So it is still circulating in China's massive population and they are covering it up, kicking out foreign journalists, leaving empty factories running with machines turned on to make it look like 'economic activity' is normal.

Leaving alone the "ministry of misinformation", the people handling the package in your country are more likely to infect it than anyone in China.

Already addressed last mile via recent studies from National Institutes of Health. CoronaVirus survivability on cardboard is ~1 day vs ~3 days and up to 5 days for some strains before further mutations on plastic, glass and metal (non-copper). Even if you mitigate the shipper handling, once you open it you can still get the extra bonus.

I do not want to inadvertently release any of the virus on surfaces in my home, and it only takes one slip up to make a mistake that I'm not willing to take. I also do not feel washing hands is 100% effective. It might sound stupid, but I am taking everything one step beyond what is suggested just to be safe. Everyone can make his or her own choice.

Well, I’m weak. I was planning on waiting until May to order so I can order the MK along with it. Maybe it’s the boredom of quarantine, or the FOMO is hitting me. I don’t know. But I pulled the trigger and ordered. Then I ordered a Pencil2, as well as a cheapish case to tide me over until May, on Amazon.
