Agreed.
Rumors said (think it was here on MR) that ads coming to Apple maps next year.
Really hoping that it's just a rumor.
OMG. Ads in map would be even more terrible! At least with the App Store, one could argue that many don't visit that application that often; less true for maps!

I have a friend in the US that has seen ads in the App Store since yesterday and told me that they are either cheaply made games that are already full of ads or gambling.

I don't want to find myself going to a casino instead of going to work.

I'm uninstalling Apple Maps if this happens.

As more and more Apple apps get ads, the closer it gets me to trashing my devices and buying something else.

No ads, no bloatware, none of that. It's one of the reasons I got into the Apple ecosystem. If they won't build up on that, they're going to lose sooo much more money than they'll make from pushing ads in the first place.

Actually they did by around £100 on iPhones, £1 on services... That's in my country and also in some other European countries I've been told.

The iPhone price increases in Europe were more about the currency value changes. At the current exchange rate and using Germany as an example, the pre-sales tax price ($829 USD) of the 128GB iPhone 14 in the U.S. is practically the same as the pre-VAT price (834 € or $833 USD) of the same phone in Germany. Prices went up in Europe because of the stronger USD.

Thanks for clarifying.

Apple didn't raise the prices. They are inverting the relationship of their profit margins with your governments' inability to stabilize your currencies and VATs. Blame your government. The dollar is surprisingly doing swimmingly. It could be doing better if our government would get its act together! Our Apple prices have not increased (save for services this week).
Ah yeah, the EURO is indeed a responsibility of the DUTCH government. And what has the VAT to do with the price increase of the latest generation of iPads?! Our VAT has been at 21% since October 1, 2012.
