Naturally I hope there is a lot more than this (which I am sure there is of course) in iOS6.

I can just see it now at WWDC.

Apple talks about revolutionary notes and reminders in the cloud.

Then Google talks about home automation in Jelly Bean at Google I/O.

Someone will look ridiculous.

I hope Apple brings it this year.

It's less than 1%. Hardly a widespread outage. I've yet to be impacted by a major outage, or delay.

if 1% is to be believed.
however, regardless of the number, any outage of service is a black mark.

and it's 2 outages within 24 hours, so that's 2 black marks.

This isn't really anything new (except for two prominent icons).

Notes sync inside mail (and on the mail app of Lion) and reminders are within Calendar...

WWDC2012 = Beta

Well, the usage of "login to iCloud with the iOS 6 beta" should dispel any thoughts that iOS 6 would be trend-breaking and release in full at WWDC. (I personally never thought that would happen but some people insist it would be different this year)

Like i said.. i've never had iCloud inaccessible for me. That still stands.

that's like saying racism doesn't exist because you've never encountered it!
congratulations on ever having any outage though, i'll drop you a congratulatory email once I can access my emails again!

last year was the first year it wasnt released shortly after WWDC... hardly a trend

I'd say that the prominent icons and direct accessibility will suit the grandmas of the world though. True statement though, nothing really new other than making features more accessible

There's a difference between releasing shortly after WWDC and releasing the consumer-grade OS following its announcement at WWDC

True that. I welcome the change - the article title is just misleading.

I don't use iCloud for anything more than to sync Safari Bookmarks, iCal, and Contacts syncing and email (but don't use that address much). I moved on, but still hoping Apple gets it together here and offers a compelling product in the future.

Yeah, I don't use iCloud for anything other than all of its functions either.

The one frustration I've had with iCloud is the lack of iWork support. I know its coming in Mountain Lion and iOS 6 but I would have thought they would have started with it included.

The real missing feature that has everyone up in arms is the "Dropbox" feature. I really have to admit I have not use for 5 or 10 or 20 GB of online storage. With iTunes Match and Photo Stream, the stuff I need backed up is backed up. Out of curiosity, what do you all keep in your online storage?

this should make it easier for the NSA to track us...awesome

what makes you come to that conclusion?

the data in notes and reminders is already in the "cloud", this is simply giving access to it via icloud.com.

Glad we have you to keep track of these things. Those sketchy engineers at Apple SAY it's less than 1% but really it might be 2%!

Get a life.

He already sent you a condolences email...didn't you read it? Oh wait..that's right...sorry...you're Mr. Less than 1%. If you believe that sort of thing.

Come on Apple.... All I want is a way to easily transfer my notes 2-3 feet via cable from my device to my desktop. I don't need to send my notes thousands of miles through their unsecure cloud. Seriously, how have they not implemented anything simple yet???
