Or, Tim Cook/Apple
Should just take a hint that people
Are not interested in Apple intelligence. Apple is stuck on the whole “they don’t know they need it until we show them they need it” nonsense. People don’t want apple intelligence and it shows in the reports, surveys, etc. Tim Cook needs to step down and let someone more capable man the ship’s wheel.

Years of neglect on hard- and software is beginning to show. The focus was and is: PROFITS

I won’t think Apple is able to fix this because all the things Apple wants and promises for this and next year the competition has the same and good working already.

Apple will never be able to catch up
Apple fans don’t care. The vocal minority make it seem like the masses are ready to jump ship, but it’s not the case.

I am interested in apple intelligence and find at least some of the features useful.
Apple is stuck on the whole “they don’t know they need it until we show them they need it” nonsense.
I disagree - but they are unique in their approach.
People don’t want apple intelligence and it shows in the reports, surveys, etc.
People didn’t want Apple Pay at the beginning either. Or thought apple would implode when it removed the headphone jack and yet…
Tim Cook needs to step down and let someone more capable man the ship.
He’s not. Per him, he's in it with both feet hitting the ground running.

Doesn’t matter what the average MR poster thinks about the board. Does it?
To expound, a negative generalized criticism is just cowardly arguing, which is what @Expos of 1969 did.
Wait and see… January 30 will show the first cracks. I don’t see any hard- and software rumors for 2025 turning the ship.
No it won’t. You have no clue as to Jan 31 even if revenue is down. It isn’t the first time and you “expert opinion” of apple has been wrong across the board.
Timmy is totally incompetent by neglecting key elements for the future for too long.
In your opinion.
They’re blinded by profits like all the staff of Apple is.
The customers that keep returned to contribute their $$$ towards apples insane revenues disagrees.

No one can “fix” generative AI. It is a “yes, and” technology. It just spits out results, and no one should trust they aren’t hallucinations.

This entire field is a dead end and every continued training round (which costs exponentially more) gives diminishing returns.

If you want to automate emails, fine, but this should technology should NEVER be used in any type of critical systems or workflows without a large team of humans to check its work.

None of this is worth the money, ecological resources, or focus the Tech industry and governments have poured into it.

So you finally admit that Apple is lacking enough knowledgeable people. Quite a breakthrough. Keep it up. It is freeing.
No I’m admitting, imo, that adding resources in software development only works to a point. If a doctor can deliver a baby in 4 hours, two doctors can’t deliver a baby in two hours.

At any rate you are speculating as am I. Except it’s a fact that adding resources works to a point.

I think many of the posts here are clueless and thankfully apple is big enough to laugh at the idiocy. It’s not a good look for posters who post generalized negative critiques.
AppleShares are down again. Already 8% this month 😬. From the big 8 in technology Apple is performing the worst in 2024/25.

Doesn’t that a bit reflect what’s going on there?

Very true. And if what they are working on is not driven by the correct focus and intent, adding more resources will only compound the problem.

Is Apple blaming the failings of Siri and Apple Intelligence on not being able to meet deadlines? Maybe they should try finding better software developers and not a new manager. Maybe Apple shouldn't have transfered the employees who worked on Apple's failed Car project to work on Apple Intelligence.

Apple has canceled work on its electric car, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday, a decade after the iPhone maker kicked off the project.

[ . . . ]

Several employees working on the project will be shifted to the company's artificial intelligence (AI) division, according to Bloomberg News, which first reported the development.
Well, maybe they didn't find better software developers because the previous manager was just letting them slide. If she's a true bug wrangler and more stringent on deadlines, that will likely lead to getting better developers if these truly cannot handle it. Just an opinion.

The bad news is this will probably take several years. The good news is we’ve been waiting for more than a decade for a better Siri so at least a shift is allegedly happening.

I remember reading something several years ago about internal employees saying improving Siri was near impossible due to the architecture / foundation of how Siri was built - or something to that effect. So at this point they might as well start at ground Siri if it will assist in making large leaps and progressions in the coming years. The unfortunate part is many people are unwilling to continue to wait and wait and wait. I would have bet my life (not really) that I would never switch to android. And if I knew an easy way to combat all my hide my email accounts and didn’t feel so trapped in the ecosystem, I’d probably be switching this year. I’m getting close to throwing the flag, though.
