That must be some pretty damn big specs of dust to do that damage to the metal band. And it's not exactly like the stainless steel band is easy to scratch. Did you check the inside of your bumper for any nubs of plastic or anything left over from manufacturing?

This my friends is what I call fear mongering, OP posts "bumper scuffed my phone" second poster says "I concur" and before you know it everyones OCD kicks in and they join the party, maybe your iphone had defects out of the box like mine? This is actually a microcosm of how society works, fear mongering as such is how we get salem witch trials, and McCarthyism. Its not a shiny coated plastic bezel, its ****ing hard brushed metal, dust will not scratch it, take your paxil and lexapro and go to bed everything will be fine in the morning.

Just put on my Wrapsol Original side pieces. Doesn't look that bad, I kinda like it .. hardly noticeable though unless someone points it out.

Some of the little ones were a little challenging, I was worried of getting water in some of the holes. I think I faired okay.

Bumper comes tomorrow so there should be no reason for my phone to get scuffed .. it's completely protected.

no scratching whatsoever on mine but I do take the bumper off every few days and clean it, and the phone.

Think what you want mate, I know my iPhone was scratched by plastic inside my bumper.....

Sorry to say anything bad about apple but it's a fact! I made a thread a while ago about it

Just to add my bumper comes off every night so phone can go in the dock! And is cleaned

I felt and looked inside my bumper and found what caused the mark on mine, it was a raised area of rubber, like a pimple. Surely this means the marks are rubber deposits on the stainless steel? A damp cloth won't remove the marks, but maybe something stronger will?

This is a little off topic but may help in this case too. I started a thread a while back asking the best way to keep the stainless band clean because mine does tend to get a little dirty and water just seemed to kind of smear the dirt or oil from fingers. I got bashed from all the lousy comedians with stupid comments but one suggested brasso and it really did the trick.

brasso?

so you just put a layer of brasso on and it works? what kind of brasso did u get? and does it affect the signal?

I've invested in an IS now so the entire phone is protected. I'm quite surprised at how much of the paint was scuffed within 4 weeks, even the band on the bottom by the speaker and mic was damaged.

Oh, look a smart ass. Aren't you clever.

Look some people are picky and care about scratches and resale value, if you don't then that's good for you.

I'm just as annoyed at those who abuse their phones and let it scratch to **** as you are to those who take care of their items.

All I can do is laugh at you then.
By the way I take extremely good care of my things. I would venture to say my phones look better without a case or protection than most of the peoples who do.

can we see some pictures of the scratched phones ?

Im sure they would get marked up from any bumper type case, thats why i not rock a full body skin and a leather pouch or holster.....
