iFrogz too!

I had to get an iFrogz case at the AT&T store last night since that's all tehy had. The first thing I noticed was that my 3.5mm cable that I use in my car's audio jack DOES NOT FIT with the case. So my plan was to exchange it later today for an Apple Bumper--now, not so much! Thanks for the warning:eek:

Anyone try the bumper with a zagg invisibleshield?

Yes, I have both on, the bumper works fine with a shield.

My biggest complaint with the bumper, is the 30 pin connector opening. It's made to fit the OEM cable, and nothing larger, so my car charger doesn't sit, along with a few other accessories. I'm considering using a blade or a dremel to open up the port hole more.

I have the Bumper + full invisibleShield too, seems decent.

As for the aftermarket plugs, with other cases I have simply whittled extra material off the plug with a knife, then smoothed it over a lighter... does the job.

Did apple or AT&T by chance have front and back screen protectors available today, I wouldn't dare use any iPhone without them.

Just called my local store and they had sold out of Bumpers. Local BestBuy is also out of InvisibleShields. This demand was more than I expected, as I was going to go pick one up after work.

I was just about to say how I have the same case and it has plenty of room.

I to got it from AT&T cause they were the only local store w/a case and I didn't want to go a day w/out some protection.

I kind'of like the case. I had one for my 3GS and love the feel of the coated plastic.

I have this exact case and it's awesome! Going to return my bumper once it gets here. Unfortunately it's prepared to ship so can't cancel it.

IMO, a mfr has the right to sell an accessory that only fits their stuff. If you want to add your own headphones, then the accessory needs to be modified by you. A good example is Honda and their optional wheels for the accord that are meant to fit their std 18 inch tire. If you want 20's you need to modify the wheel with spacers at your expense.

Now the mute switch opening not being big enuf is a valid complaint.

And my big question is will their bumper work with their dock?...I'm am hoping so...

most aftermarket headphones have slimmed down their wire width at the base of the jack, so they fit ipod/iphones better... and the ipod buds were the trendsetter to that a couple years ago, so I say if ur headphones dont fit them through the bumper, buy new phones or pull out the knife to make the hole bigger!

Hey OP, can you throw up a couple of pics of the whole phone with the bumper on? GF is considering black w/ a black bumper and I'd really appreciate it.

Also, does the bumper make the phone noticeably thicker/wider? Or is it still basically the same size? Thanks :)

Looks like a 3GS

Does anyone else find that the bumper detracts from the i4's aesthetics?

Bumpers cheapen the look of it.

I use it because it need protection, but I find it makes my i4 look like a 3GS with a black bezel.

I can't wait to get my hands on any color other than black....

For the people complaining about larger headphone jacks not fitting in. Have you by chance noticed that the area around the headphone jack is the only place on the bumper where there isn't plastic? Rubber stretches. I'm sure apple designed it this way for compatibility. Just put some effort into things and stop complaining about useless crap.

Bummer on the problems, I have one on order (if it ever ships). I may do a little modding with a dremel tool.

About people using the Apple supplied headphones...LOL. I have like 5 pairs of those laying around unused. I can't stand them. My Shure and Etymotic headphones have pretty small plugs so they may work OK.

Get out the trusty Dremel

Doesn't everyone own a Dremel? :D

Just use a router bit or a file bit.

Then a little emery cloth.

Well it does feel nice but since I don't have any nails its too hard for me to get to the vibrate switch, especially since I often want to turn it on/off while the phone is in my pocket.

Thats not the thing thats troubling me the most though... I can not use the sleep/wake button with the bumper on. It looks like I have to return this. Anyone having the same issues?

I said that very thing in my bumper thread (sorry didn't know this one was started). The new iPhone is being called Lexus-like and making the iPhone 3G/3GS look like a toy. The bumper case certainly removes that distinction.
