The bumpers are so strange looking. Is it mostly ATT users because they got the farked antenna? You can tell the ATT phones from the Verizon ones because all the ATT iPhones have the bumpers.... LOL.

Seriously, with all the great choices for cases and such, why on earth would anyone want to use one of those things on their iPhone?
Because none of the cases out there look good to me or add too much thickness?

That's not the Incase Snap, I saw... Strange, had more openings
They make perforated snap cases that have holes all over.

Personally, I use a black rubber/white plastic knockoff bumper from sw-box. I also use a LuckyLabs spectra wrap in case it does scratch up the antenna band.

Isn't the incase snap polycarbonate? Which means it will scratch up easily, unless they did something to it?

Does anyone have issues with the bumper scratching the metal band ? I read alot of stories about this but im not sure how its happening ? I may still use my bumper but if i do , do i have to put a skin along the band ?

Yes, a lot of people do. Its dirt and other particles that get trapped underneath. It rubs against the metal band, you'd probably see shiny scratches. A decal would be best if you really want to use the bumper.

why doesnt this happen with a snap on case than such as the incase snap ?

I've always used a bumper, and don't have any scratches on the metal band. I'm not OCD about my iP4 either.....I probably take the bumper off once a week to clean it.

All cases can potentially scratch your phone. A case such as the Incase snap is tight-fitting, therefore there is no room for it to really move around and rub up against your phone. Compare it to the bumper, however, its very loose-fitting.

Once I have a case on, my phone never sees the light of day. I don't take it off to clean, ever. Maybe I should from now on. :)

Wondered what that shiny scratch was?!! it's like a dig rather than a scratch that you can see at a certain angle. I've only used bumper so far, but would like to use a case.

How do these plastic cases not mark when they slide in or out?

I still have mine. I use it occasionally. I don't like having the back of the phone exposed when I lie it down.

I've been using my bumper since launch day and up until about a month ago its barely had a scratch on it and has protected my phone really well from the few drops its had. My antenna is still (no scratches, except around the power button) because i bought a gelaskins shortly after buying the phone and kept the side stickers on (even though i got rid of the back and front pieces almost right away)

A couple of weeks ago my bumper finally started tearing all over the place, so i walked into my local apple store and asked about the warranty for the cases, the guy i talked to just asked if i still had the receipt (i said maybe somewhere buried in my email address) and then he asked how long ago i got it (last july) and he just said "don't worry about it" and opened a new bumper and gave it to me (and took the old one) lol i really like the bumper so i was happy :D

How does that bumper manage to tear like that?

The rubber edges got really soft over time and after nearly a year it was starting to stretch and tear here and there, I might have made it sound worse than it was really but i was looking to buy a new one when i went into the store and thought i'd ask about the warranty

dam i might have to do that! i still have mine from day 1 so its the rev1 case. I've been holding off to buy a rev2 case because i hate wasting money. I really need a rev2 case with the bigger dock opening.

thanks for the info!

Thanks, just curious if it was from being taken on and off a lot to clean it
