They cancelled my iphone wallet order for the same reason. I had two wallets, one for my wife and one for me, different colors too. That was first time I’d see them do that. Had to reorder and now have a December delivery. At least it wasn’t the phones.

Seems like they’re within their rights to do that but it is very anti-customer to cancel orders. It doesn’t feel like an “Apple” move to treat people like that especially if you’re on an upgrade program. Of course you want the new one as soon as you possibly can!
Well I placed an order for the iPad Pro on the last day of Free AirPods day (education discount), and they cancelled it the next day since they weren't able to verify my information. (Paid through PayPal). Even if I placed the order again, the. agent said they won't be able to apply the offer again. Very un-Apple like from all the stories I hear on the internet.

Same thing happening to me (two iUP orders, same phones, 128gb blue Pros), second phone canceled. The Specialist I spoke to said it was flagged as a duplicate, as though I accidentally ordered two phones (even though I was upgrading two separate upgrade program accounts). Escalated, although it’s a couple of days for a callback from whoever it gets escalated to. I will be absolutely livid if this delays my getting a phone on release day, this is uncharacteristically sloppy of Apple, and the delay for getting a callback is inexcusable.

I ordered a 12 Pro and 12 within minutes of each other within 5 minutes of launch. Both were purchased outright and both show shipped via UPS.

I ordered my Mom's 12 Pro using the AT&T Upgrade (hoping to take advantage of the $800 trade-in credit) and going to get my 12 Pro Max next month using the iUP. From what I've seen the issue seems to be getting 2x iPhone on the same Apple ID using iUP right? Hope this gets resolved for you all and fixed in time for the 12 Pro Max and 12 Mini preorder.

I ordered two 12 pros...one for me and one for my wife. Both are in the IUP. The both orders were 8:01 EDT on the confirmation email. Yesterday woke up to find one had been cancelled and was told I ordered them too close together. I was also told a senior advisor would call me in 24-48 hours. In the meantime I reordered my wife's phone for launch day pickup at the Apple Store near me. Here's hoping that order doesn't get cancelled or I might as well pitch a tent in the back yard o_O

Has anyone actually gotten a callback from a senior advisor yet? Wondering what the “options” are going to be. If it’s just going to be to place a new order then it’s a waste of time, I should just buy out of the upgrade program (by selling the phone) and hopefully find a release day pickup at Best Buy (none of the Apple Stores near me show stock). Regardless, I think I’m screwed on getting the Pacific Blue I ordered any time soon. Thanks for nothing Apple.

I placed 2 orders within minutes for 3 devices total ( 2 x 12pro + 1 x 12) with no issues these are purchased outright.

If they do call you back, ask them if they’ll make the extra IUP monthly payment for you.
I’m also real curious why it’s just IUP. Anyone could key up their purchase as a favorite and get their order in fast too. And anyone trying to decide on model or color is NOT doing that with IUP since each purchase is tied to an existing phone Or a new loan, right?

This random decision making me isn’t what I’d expect from Apple.

On some level, I appreciate this, to discourage those "I always have dead pixels so I order 10 phones and keep the best one and return the other 9" people who would create more limited quantities for those of us who only want one.....but in your case, it's perfectly legit, and there should be a way around it.

So they did call, and claim that it’s a Citizens One problem. But I had the loan approval email, and the advisor admitted it could be any number of glitches and Apple can’t really tell. But the bottom line is that they can’t fix the canceled order. Rather than reorder and wait for Apple shipping, with this debacle I’m done with iUP—I ordered from Best Buy for pickup on release day. Extremely disappointing.

If you don’t upgrade using IUP are you paying the old phone off instead?

So what should I do this year for the iPhone 12 Pro Max?

I ordered a 12 for my son on the iUP for the first time this year and I was going to renew my iUP for me.

Now I don’t know what to do, will they cancel pre-order after I order if I did one for my 12, or will enough time gone by?

My wife is also renewing her iUP for the 12 Pro Max, so that’s all my options.

Apple has always limited the number of iPhones a person can purchase on release day. It’s meant to prevent scalping. I think the usual limit is two but supplies may be shorter than usual this year.

More like reselling on eBay.

I can't much room for profit by doing this. Last time I sold something on eBay I think I got soaked for like 15% between eBay and Paypal fees.

When the CSR makes comments like that, to the OP. I don't think they really know why it was cancelled. It's an educated guess, or someone told them this, who also doesn't know. The issue is they are fielding calls and some things are just mysteries. While there may be limits on how many phones you can order at a time. People's responses are showing a variety of outcomes to suggest the order shouldn't have been cancelled.

For the CSR trying to solve your case, it's water under the bridge. They can't fix the cancelled order I think. I think if you ordered the Max, on launch day, you will get a phone, faster than if you reordered the Pro today. Give your hubby a Max present. :)

Apple CS has tanked this year. It was one of the few reasons to put up with the prices.

Won't be bad if they can put the dates right; otherwise, I'd be returning the other order and giving Apple the finger as I return to Android.

Short answer is that they aren’t willing to do anything whatsoever to fix it, but I’m not desperate enough to return to Android. Just giving the finger to Apple and the iUP and buying from Best Buy/Verizon device payments instead to still get release day :).

This is so disappointing. I have a lot of Apple products because the customer service is normally so good. I don’t understand how anyone in customer service would settle for not knowing why an order was cancelled. You’d think they‘d have more respect for a $1k purchase especially during a pandemic.

If you live near a store, you might check the inventory daily. I think I used to check at 10pm giving them time to unpack a shipment. I’ve found it quicker to find one in the store than an order that didn’t get launch date.

The orders that got cancelled, did you guys order it again? I'm planning to pre-order two iPhone 12 Minis next week to be fully paid off no installment plans.
