Also, what about auto-payments? I have credit cards like that now. When I charge on them, the funds get pulled from my linked bank account (even Fidelity) automatically and there's nothing I need to approve. (Suffice it to say, I don't carry a balance on my credit cards ever, nor should anyone really.)

I'm bewildered that this Apple Pay guide doesn't cover that most important part -- how to pay your Apple Card bill!
Did you ever get an answer to your question?

No single credit card with 3-4% cash back? So? Is it too difficult to manage 3 credit cards in Apple Wallet?

Yeah, I'm not getting this argument either. Or the guy who asked why have any credit cards at all if you're not planning to go deep into debt.

I've got an AmEx Blue Cash Preferred that pays 6% on groceries. My Capital One Savor card pays 4% on dining and entertainment. I've got Chase Freedom and Discover it cards that pay 5% on rotating categories, and a Bank of America Cash Rewards Preferred card that allows me to pick my own 3% category, including for online purchases, so I'm pretty much covered on everything at 3% to 6% cash back.

I can walk and chew gum at the same time, too! :D

I was excited to get this card, even if I was only going to use it to get 3% off my Apple purchases and then pay it off.

And then I learned that I wouldn’t have any extended warranty protection like I do with my other main card. Seems like a no-brainer to extend AppleCare coverage time if purchased with the card. But no.

And then I learned that I can’t bring my data into Banktivity. I get that they are disrupting how you see your financial data, but what good is that if it isn’t integrated with the rest of my financial data?

The more I learn, the more I think I’m not my usual early adopter self on this one.

Meh. As always, the best strategy is to have multiple cards and use the right card for the situation. With Apple purchases, I’m sure you already know that Apple Care will be far superior to any credit card offered benefit.

If you can afford to pay it off every month, what’s the point of having a credit card?

Is that a serious question? The point of a card is consumer protections and rewards/cash back. If you can’t pay it off, don’t use it... emergencies not withstanding.

The point of any credit card is to make money. Apple is releasing this to make $$$$ out of the APR. I don’t know what you think the point of it is if not that.

Kind of naive logic. What if it doesn’t make money directly but instead locks users in the eco system or even grows it?

Yes, but the Windows computer you use at work is primarily YOUR computer, right? My usage scenario involves using computers that are not necessarily owned by me. And when I use those machines, assuming I do not have my iPhone or Mac with me, how then would 2FA be anything other than a bother to me?

Right now I do not use 2FA. I remember one very long password and use a password manager. I can access that from anywhere via web browser (using private mode, naturally) and gain access to the passwords I need. I realize 2FA adds extra security which is very nice, but it's yet another step that isn't convenient for me.

Again, if anyone can show me how 2FA is just as convenient as entering a single password, I'm all ears.

2FA is about security, not convenience. Majority of the time, simply checking remember me will prevent that device from asking for 2FA for a few months if not forever. Hardly a bother. But the peace of mind is absolutely worth it.

So the Apple Card is just another credit card with 2% cash back.

It's nice to have in my wallet, but I'll stick to my cards with 3-4% cash back.
and what cards give you 3*4% cash back on everything none

"AmEx Blue Cash Preferred that pays 6% on groceries" Yes sounds great until you pay $95 a year just to have the card. You have too buy about $1600 worth go groceries before you pay off that $95

Unless I’m missing something I don’t see a way to setup autopay? It looks like you’ll need to manually pay it.

I attached screenshots of what I see in the app.

So I didn’t read this article before I got my Apple Card notification. I assumed that a credit check was done prior to accepting the offer, so I unfroze my credit, then applied and accepted and then refroze my credit about 15 minutes later.

About an hour later I got a notification from TrueID (TransUnion’s free monitoring service) that a credit request from Goldman Sachs was denied because my credit was frozen. Silly me i figured they would run the check before giving me the card.

I tried contacting Goldman Sachs, but they couldn’t tell me anything useful other than they will email me if there are problems.

As far as I can tell the card is active. Has anyone run into this same scenario and if so what happened?

Got my invitation yesterday. Pretty easy to apply. I was asked for state issued ID, but it took 8 or so attempts (of taking a pic of the ID) before it finalized and went through. The physical card will be delivered in the next 5-7 days.

Apple Card currently doesn’t support Apple Pay on the Apple Watch. Seems crazy that Apple wouldn’t have that working right from the start.

If you buy organic groceries for a family, you will easily spend over $6000 per year on them; it's still better than the runner-up Penfed that gives you 3% cashback (2.55% really).

This would be a problem for you? Let's say I spend $6,000 a year on groceries. 6% back is $360. Take away $95 and I'm still $265 ahead. Let's say that instead of AmEx Blue Cash Preferred, I go with a card that has no fee, but that only pays 2% on groceries. I'd get only $120 back in rewards. $265 > $120. And this is not taking into account that AmEx Blue Cash Preferred pays 6% on streaming services (Netflix, iTunes, etc.), 3% at gas stations, 3% on transit (rideshare, parking, tolls, trains, etc.), and 1% on everything else. You also get a $250 sign up bonus that effectively covers your first 2.5 years of member fees. I'm not worried about covering AmEx's $95 fee, nor am I worried about covering the $95 fee on my Capital One Savor card, as both end up paying back way more than they cost.

Do you have a super old Apple Watch? Because this simply is not true for current models. I recall someone on reddit saying they couldn’t use the Apple Card on their series 1 watch. Definitely works on my series 4 and series 3.
